That's a Sikh thing - all Sikh women are called Firstname Kaur, as all Sikh males are called Fiirstname Singh. It predates the use of heritable surnames, but is still current practice.

A question??? I'm not wholly sure on the law in Scotland. A person (named as the Mother) has been detained for 12 hours and this then extended by a further 12 hours. Seems to me that by about 11pm or midnight they need to release or arrest this person.

If they do arrest at this point, will they get more time for questioning then? Or have to move on to charge?

Hope that question makes sense.

Watching news now- they have to either charge her or release her by midnight tonight. Scottish police will be updating media in next 30 mins apparently

Sky Metalwala springs to my mind. Beautiful little American toddler of Pakistani and Ukrainian descent. He was 'abducted' from the vehicle mom left him in. As you do. Still not found. He had been 'unwell', dontcha know?

WSers discovered the mom's FB just plastered with pics of daughter, and virtually none of Sky....and all the meet a sugar daddy profiles and the Craigslists ads, but that's another matter.

I mentioned the same thing upthread a little bit. This tragic case reminds me very much of sweet Sky. There are lots of similarities. And it kills me that Sky's poor excuse for a mother is still walking free. :cry:
