The unsolved mysteries surrounding unidentified bodies found in the North East

The UK Missing Persons Bureau has a total of seven cases for our region dating back to 1972

A skull discovered at sea, a skeleton found on the shore, and a man with just one hand are among the mysterious cases of unidentified bodies in the North East.

The UK Missing Persons Bureau has records of seven open cases for our region dating as far back more than 40 years.

The sites of the grim discoveries in the North East include the rivers Tyne and Wear, Wark Forest and the coast in Beadnell and Seaham.

All of those listed are men, and details have been provided by Durham Constabulary or Northumbria Police.
