A search is under way to find missing County Durham man Norman Lamb.

The 51-year-old went missing from his home in Bishop Auckland at around 4pm on June 29.

Durham Constabulary officers are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and are appealing for information.

Mr Lamb is described as around 6ft 2in tall with brown eyes and dark thinning hair.

It is believed he was wearing a dark blue or black t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers when he went missing.

Officers are asking anyone who may have seen him, or know his whereabouts, to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.

POLICE have appealed for help in finding Norman Lamb who went missing from his Bishop Auckland home nearly two weeks ago.

A Durham Police spokesperson said Norman, who is also known as Peter, was last seen at his home in the town on Tuesday June 29.

He is described as being around 6ft 2in tall with brown eyes and dark thinning hair.

It is believed he was wearing a dark blue or black t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers when he went missing.

Anyone who has seen Norman, or has any information on his whereabouts, should call us on 101, quoting incident number 28 of June 30.

Officers searching for a missing County Durham man have released new CCTV images of him.

Norman Lamb, who is known as Peter, went missing from his home in Bishop Auckland on June 29.

The CCTV images show the last known sighting of the 51-year-old at Sainsbury’s, in Bishop Auckland, at 10.13am that morning.

Peter went missing six hours later.

Officers are asking for drivers who were in the Greenfield Road and Maude Terrace area at around 4.08pm to review their dashcam footage for any possible sightings.

Farmers across the North East are being urged to check whether a missing Bishop Auckland man could be working on their farm.

Norman Lamb, also known as Peter, went missing more than three months ago and has not been seen since.

The last known sighting of Peter was at Sainsbury’s in St Helen Auckland at 10.13am on Tuesday, June 29. He went missing six hours later.

Officers investigating his disappearance are now asking farmers and landowners in the area whether they have employed the 51-year-old on a board and lodgings basis.

It looks like there is a sad end to this disappearance. The local mainstream press are reporting that "Durham police confirmed that a body was found in the Witton Park area, near Bishop Auckland, and that the family of missing man Norman Peter Lamb has now been informed".
