If the prosecution is able to prove to the jury that the defendant attacked baby G three times over a span of time, and did so by injecting air and force feeding extreme amounts of milk, in order to cause projectile vomiting and air embolisms, and the child became a paraplegic and severely brain damaged because of these attacks-----in my opinion, there will be consequences of some kind.

I can't say for sure whether it will meet the criteria for attempted murder---but I dont think the jurors will ignore the outcome of the alleged attacks.

Absolutely agreed!

It just seems it would have been a much easier case had they simply charged GBH rather than attempted murder. I was most surprised at the number of AM charges when she was first charged as they are notoriously hard to prove.

As a layperson I get that attempted murder is difficult to prove and requires intent to kill.

But ... this case is unusual as it has multiple charges some murder some attempted

I do wonder if there has been many cases with with multiple attempted murder charges carried out a different times.

Then we have the fact that these potential victims were in hospital with immediate access to medical assistance..that would alter the liklihood of death.

How does the law even measure the certainty of death ? Surely not just by the act or injury?

Someone stabbed near the heart in the woods would die

Someone stabbed near the heart in a hospital waiting room may not be so certain to die

Could someone kindly point me to a link about a note being found at LL's house that said something along the lines of 'Why do i keep doing this? (or words along those lines, sorry if that is incorrect, its just from my poor memory). Thank you .
Just posting again, in case anyone can help out? Thanks.

I read that its usually used while they're attempting resus so thecrash team aren't distracted by the alarm still going off.
They're annoying. I worked in a hospital (not a nurse, but involved in patient care) and alarms often went off in a fairly routine, not emergency manner and the nurses would often ask us to press the mute button because they knew it wasn't anything to worry about.

I think that is a really key point. If someone did these same actions but did not have the monitor plugged in, for an alarm to sound, Baby G would probably have died at some point before anyone could save him.

The reason BabyG lived, although with severe brain damage and paralysis, was because the monitor sounded code red alarm, and a team brought her back to life.

Without that resuscitation team, that sprang into action three separate times, the alleged attacks would have ended in death.

Perhaps that is what the prosecution will argue, in terms of certainty of death.
