Hello everyone, one of my friends from university, Olisa Odukwe has gone missing, last seen Saturday May 2nd, 2021.

-
Police say they are extremely concerned for the welfare of a University of Bristol student who has been reported missing.

Numerous posts from other students appealing for his whereabouts have named him as Olisa Odukwe.

Olisa, 20, was last seen at his address in the Redland area of Bristol in the early hours of Saturday 1 May.He was wearing a grey hoodie with a picture of a black goat on the front, and either black shorts or black joggers. It is thought he may have a black racer style bike with him, with a black saddle and blue tape on the handlebars.Avon and Somerset Police is urging anyone who has any information on Olisa's whereabouts to call 999 or 101 quoting reference 5221094539.

**It has been confirmed by Avon and Somerset Police that Olisa left his house at 4AM, May 2nd, arriving at 'VShed' (Wetherspoons Pub) 18 minutes later, staying some time, (not confirmed either alone or with someone else) before either turning off his phone or throwing it into the river. Odukwe then came back to his girlfriend's house at roughly 5am, staying two hours before leaving again on his bike at 7am. It is from this point he has not been heard from since.

I've used WS for some cases, but this is the first time I'm using this site for someone I personally know who has gone missing. I know especially his girlfriend and his housemates and extremely concerned and this is VERY out of character.

Was the v-shed still open at that time ? I thought they all close around 2am but it’s been a while since I’ve been there. Also between Olisa going back to his girl friends and leaving again, is that from phone data too or from his girl friend ?

Where was he going ? Has he been stressed lately etc. Keeping everything crossed for him coming safely home

It appears he may have just gone there, but not actually inside. As reported sitting on dock. Was he meeting someone?

Police ‘extremely concerned’ about missing student, 20, as his girlfriend begs people to help

Detectives are appealing for information as his worried girlfriend and pals are urging locals to search for the missing student.

Hundreds of people have taken to social media and shared his photo in a bid to track down the 20-year-old or find someone who may have seen him.

His football team, University of Bristol Association Men's Football Club, described Olisa as having box braids, being around 6ft tall and has a lean build.

He was last seen wearing a grey YG hoodie with a picture of a black goat on the front, and either black shorts or black joggers.

Must be doubly worrying for you.

Are you still there, at uni? What is he like as a person? Did he have any worries about uni, money, or other? Was he his usual self before disappearing?

I hope there is some resolution within the next 48hrs.

I'm still at uni and he's in my year. He's incredibly popular and well-liked, plays football for the university and has some very good close relationships as well. He does Mechanical Engineering, a stressful and demanding course, it's currently exam season, so the only thought I have in my head of why he could have disappeared is because it all became too much for him. But his journey on Saturday night, heading down to Broadside Quay, a 20 minute cycle ride, staying there for some time and then returning to his house before leaving again seems as if he may have met someone down there?

I'll try to post some maps of where Olisa went, in relation to where he lives, as well as some new GPS info about a walk he took the day before in Leigh Woods, Bristol (A very dense woodland just at the edge of the city). I know his girlfriend and a number of his friends are going to retrace that very walk today, so I will try to keep everyone updated

As you know him and his gf, you could ask for verified status here, then you can post things you know which may not be in MSM.

Concerns are growing over the welfare of a student whose disappearance has been described by his friends as completely out of character.

Olisa Odukwe, 20, who is in his second year at the University of Bristol, was last seen leaving his Redland home on a bicycle early on Saturday morning.

His phone has been switched off ever since.

Avon and Somerset Police is appealing for information and said it was "extremely concerned" for his welfare.

Friends of missing student, Olisa Odukwe, have revealed that he left his home in Redland on Saturday morning without his wallet and with his phone switched off or not with him.

Earlier that morning, his phone recorded him cycling through Harbourside at 4am. This is the last recorded location from his phone.

Students are organising a search through Ashton Court and Leigh Woods today amid growing concerns for the welfare of the second year student who went missing on 1st May.

If you have any information please contact the police on 999 and provide case number 5221094539.

Beginning in Ashton Court Estate car park, volunteers aim to follow the route Olisa took last Friday through Ashton Court and Leigh Woods from his home in Redland.

Yesterday, over 300 missing person posters were put up in Bristol as local charities offered to help print out posters.

Night searches have been carried out in the past two nights in Leigh Woods using thermal imaging cameras. These cameras work best at night to locate a heat source. However they can only cover a limited area. Students are being encouraged to help take part in a day search to cover as much area as possible.

Well, I wonder what he went to the pub on the quayside for at 4am. Pubs aren't open due to covid lock down, and certainly wouldn't be open at that time anyway.
I'm guessing lessons/lectures at the university are all online, so he wouldn't have actually had to attend.
I wonder what he was up to?
The quayside visit may be a money or drug deal? Then an argument with girlfriend later?
MOO.

Is there any proof apart from the girlfriend's statement that Olisa made it back home at 5? CCTV?
As far as I understand, he left at 4 and his phone stopped pinging then because it was either thrown or turned off. I just think it adds an oddity to the case that he'd go out in the middle of the night, come back home to bed only to leave again 2 hours later? If he had to be somewhere, he'd have had to set an alarm which I'm sure the girlfriend would have noticed and most people use their own cellphone as an alarmclock, if he didn't have his phone, does that mean he just lay awake for 2 hours and then left again? Did he say anything when he left to the GF or did she just wake up and he was gone? At which point I wonder why we know it's certain that he left at 7

Not pointing any fingers, I am just running through possibilities
