Found Deceased UK - Olisa Odukwe, 20, Bristol, 1 May 2021

Thanks for sharing @hed_ts - it must feel very surreal and worrying to be posting about someone you know irl.

Do we know if he lived with his girlfriend or was just visiting? Any chance his phone ran out of battery rather than switched off/thrown in the water?

Is there any proof apart from the girlfriend's statement that Olisa made it back home at 5? CCTV?
As far as I understand, he left at 4 and his phone stopped pinging then because it was either thrown or turned off. I just think it adds an oddity to the case that he'd go out in the middle of the night, come back home to bed only to leave again 2 hours later? If he had to be somewhere, he'd have had to set an alarm which I'm sure the girlfriend would have noticed and most people use their own cellphone as an alarmclock, if he didn't have his phone, does that mean he just lay awake for 2 hours and then left again? Did he say anything when he left to the GF or did she just wake up and he was gone? At which point I wonder why we know it's certain that he left at 7

Not pointing any fingers, I am just running through possibilities

I think from what was said in reports, when he got out of bed to leave home the second time, he just told Daisy, he was "getting up". This was between 6-7am.

His phone last pinged at the dock near the Wetherspoons (V shed) where he first cycled to, but there is no word as to what happened to phone thereafter, ie did he throw away or switch off before then cycling back to Redland, and did he then take with him when he left the second time?

It seems odd behaviour - unless he would often go out in early hours for a ride if he couldn't sleep, or to keep fit for football. I wonder why he was going out the first time and what he told Daisy then?

It was also Saturday May 1 he was last seen. Perhaps a mod could amend thread heading for clarity.

Pre-Covid the area of the Harbourside would have still been fairly busy at 4am, but I imagine that's not the case at all at the moment. Something about the reports of his last movements seems off to me, but obviously that's JMO

People have been urged to walk along the same route that missing student Olisa Odukwe was known to take on Friday (April 30).

Police say they are 'extremely concerned' for the welfare of the 20-year-old after he disappeared in the early hours of Saturday, May 1.

An Instagram page called HelpfindOlisa has posted a picture of his believed last route around the city - including College Green, Hotwells, Ashton Court and Redland.

''A spokesperson for the force said: "Olisa, 20, was last seen at his address in the Redland area of Bristol in the early hours of Saturday 1 May.

"He was wearing a grey YG hoodie with a picture of a black goat on the front, and either black shorts or black joggers.

"He may have a black racer style bike with him, with a black saddle and blue tape on the handlebars."

I'll try to post some maps of where Olisa went, in relation to where he lives, as well as some new GPS info about a walk he took the day before in Leigh Woods, Bristol (A very dense woodland just at the edge of the city). I know his girlfriend and a number of his friends are going to retrace that very walk today, so I will try to keep everyone updated

Do you know if Olisa walked alone to the Leigh Woods, or if he went with anyone else?

How worrying, I hope he’s just taking a bit of time out and is somewhere safe and well.

Is there any cctv on him on the morning he went missing? He could have gone a long way on his bike.

Neither he, bike or phone have been found.

I did wonder if he dropped it or put in down on wall or something at Harbourside and didn't realise until later, when he got out of bed again and took off to find it?

I would imagine police have been looking at any CCTV near Vshed, or tracking any from his address on Stanley Road. Maybe time for locals to check their doorcams.

Don't know where on Stanley Road he lives, but if he had headed for Kensington Road, the pub on corner, The Kensington Arms, has CCTV. That should be checked.

It's been confirmed by the Bristol uni football club that Olisa is deceased. There's no further information on what happened or how they know this, they just made an Instagram post and his girlfriend Daisy has also confirmed it on her Instagram too. I'm so sorry for his family, I was just about to log onto here to see if anyone knew anything when I saw that he's sadly gone. I hope he rests in peace.

How terribly sad. My thoughts are with his family and friends, and you @hed_ts, who started the thread. What a shame no one here was able to help in the end.

I’d just like to thank you all for all your help and support, it’s just another example on how this community can come together and help out even in really awful times ❤️ I’m truly devastated to be saying Rest in Peace to Olisa, a bright, talented and kind man, and to his girlfriend Daisy, who I can only imagine what she must be going through right now. Please please everyone, make sure you check up on your friends and loved ones, no one knows truly what is going on in some people’s lives and minds, it’s a cliche but no one could have predicted Olisa would intentionally disappear like this. So please, even just a text, check up on them ❤️ Thank you all again for helping out, I’m so sorry it’s such a tragic ending.
