GUILTY UK - Paige Doherty, 15, Clydebank, 19 March 2016

  • #121
I can't get my head around this atall. None of it makes much sense but then does it ever :( poor girl. I don't think much has been said in regards to being extra vigilant in and around the area which makes me think the police are onto something, maybe!

Was just on her FB page and she has over 4500 friends on FB, wow, that's a huge number for a 15 year old isn't it? Of course this means nothing, kids these days add and accept anyone to get their number of FB friends high, as if to show popularity. I for one wouldn't allow my daughter to have anyone on FB unless she knew them, but that's just me!

Edinlass I think you are also looking at the Remembering Paige Facebook account, she has just over 600 friends on her personal account she would have used.

The 'remembering' has just been added. When I seen the page lastnight it didn't have any mention of remembering. I assume her parents have the password or someone and has changed it.

Her personal account is still active and hasn't been changed, am I allowed to link to it? I am not sure if she was using 2 facebook accounts as posted on 11th March on the Remembering page by a friend of hers is a status saying Paige has forgot her password so please add - with a link to the account I am talking about. Maybe the number of friends increased after it was changed.

Psychologically, "Multiple stab wounds" screams personal as in she knew her killer :(

This is heartbreaking. It's about an hour away from me and just makes it so creepy. Glasgow also had the tragedy of Karen Buckly not so long ago and now this.
I also remember a few weeks ago of reading about a stabbing in Clydebank. I will try and find the link, I'm sure it's unrelated but perhaps this area is suffering knife crime.
I'm not familiar with the area, but I'm hoping they will be able to get some valuable information from CCTV. Does anyone local know if there is any? Also shops etc near by that might have captured something?

I really have every confidence in Police Scotland.

From linked article: Murdered schoolgirl Paige Doherty may have been killed by a sex attacker before her body was dumped at the roadside.Investigators yesterday refused to rule out a "sexual motive" in the 15-year-old's death and also suggested she may have been attacked in one place and then left in another.
The popular schoolgirl disappeared from Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire on Saturday and her body was discovered in bushes by a busy roadside two days later.
As Police Scotland launch a public appeal for information about Paige's last movements , an investigating officer has said he is "keeping an open mind in terms of motive."
The officer told The Scottish Sun: “I don’t yet know if the attack on Paige took place here or if she was attacked somewhere else and brought here later.

New here recently signed up..
I am actually from Clydebank, know the area like the back of my hand stay 2 seconds away from the scene. Where her body was found is somewhere only locals will know. Its a popular spot for the young ones to hang around in, but hugely populated that weekend as the sun was shining. The journey from the Bus Stop at Whitecrook to where she has end up is only roughly 5 minutes in the car but to walk it would take well over the half hour, me and partner had noticed that she has got every family member on her FB except her step dad bit strange to me.

So great to have someone who knows the area!!! Interesting about your comments about where she was found. I wonder if this is somewhere her attacker knew from hanging around.

Just off the area its just marsh land and is the same general area to where Karen Buckley was found actually, to me personally it seems as if it could be someone young just because its known where the youths all go to drink and do whatever else. If the attacker had placed her further back she might not have been found for a few weeks. The road where she was found is so hugely populated and right next door to the golfing centre but what is interesting if you see the location on google maps its the only bit of the pavement down that area you can pull your car in to without having to stop it on the main road. Very bizarre..

Hi Pabs,

When you say young ones hang around at the spot where Paige was found, do you mean at the sporting facilities or the ground next to it? I am from the area too and know just how busy the general area would have been at the weekend due to the nice weather.

Ground next to it, GlasgowGirl!

Its more used by the Drumchapel folk, but I remember being at school and people skipping school and heading up there. I just don't think she was there for 3 days, the Boulie (the place she was found) is like you said so busy all the time someone would have seen her way before if she was there that long.

So would it make most sense to assume that she was dumped there before dawn Monday morning perhaps?

Yes, There is just no way she was there. The foliage isn't very dense right now well theres literally nothing on the tree's and bushes. If you look at the crime scene pictures you can see how close she was to the pavement, I think she was dumped there early hours monday. There are also no cameras down the main road except one speed camera which is a lot further up.

Hope they have questioned the guys making the rolls.both of them.

Thanks Pabs, I don't recall it being a hang out spot in my days but it's been a while since I was hanging about the streets :blushing: Young ones do hang about strange places. I agree that it seems all too convenient that there is a small break in the pavement that would allow someone to pull in at that exact spot and not have their car stopped on the road itself. Seems rushed as she was left so close to the roadside and I definitely think she would have been seen before Monday had she been left there over the weekend. The trees and bushes are far less dense at the moment as all the fencing and land behind is much more visible from the road than it shows on google maps.

I remember being a teenager and hanging out in the most strangest of places, anywhere the police couldn't find us ha!
It does seem like they've panicked driving down seen they could pull in there without getting too much attention and thrown her body in and drove off. I just can't seem to get my mind around where she must of been for the previous 3 days..

Very little mentioned about the boyfriend, I do not think he is from Clydebank. Also you will see from Facebook posts that he is tagged in, that friends of Paige ask who is Dylan Kane before others confirm it is her boyfriend; perhaps they hadn't been together long.

I haven't got fb so unfortunately I'm unable to check. I just thought I'd ask out of curiosity x

I wonder whether this spot was chosen to cast suspicion on the young people who hang out there.

Question: would she herself also have gone to this spot sometimes? Or is this a different kind of group, different age, that hangs out there usually?
