It is reported he was last spoken to at 9.30pm on Wednesday, November 20th, after leaving work in the Broughton area of Flintshire at 8.45pm to cycle home.

Paul is described to be around 6ft tall, has short grey hair and is believed to be wearing navy pants, a dark coloured jacket, and a hat.

Searches are currently being carried out in the Deeside area, and around the area of Rock Road in Connah’s Quay, where his bike has been located.

North Wales Police have issued a second appeal for Paul, in which they mention that he is now believed to be wearing a hi-vis [jacket], and that searches are currently being carried out in the Garden City area. Garden City is around 3 miles west of where his bike was found, and on the other side of the river Dee.

Sadly, I think there is going to be bad news coming through about Paul.
I live in North Wales. I am checking the Connah's Quay FB group (it is a public one) and one of his best friends commented the helicopter was looking for him last night. No updates yet. I fear the same as you.

Sad news, indeed, coming through. I had seen earlier (non-MSM) reports of a body having been found on railway tracks near Connah's Quay, and North Wales Police have now officially reported:

A body has sadly been discovered in the search for 48-year-old Paul, who was reported missing in the Flintshire area overnight.

Chief Inspector Simon Kneale said: “Formal identification has not yet been confirmed, but Paul’s family has been informed, and a file will be prepared for the coroner by colleagues at the British Transport Police.

“I would like to thank the community for their support during our searches. Our thoughts remain with Paul’s family.”

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just after 9am today (21 November) near Connahs Quay.

“Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
