Yes, it is no coincidence he caved less than a month before his deposition.

Prince Andrew has agreed to a deposition date of March 10 in connection with the civil lawsuit filed against him by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, according to an attorney for Giuffre and a source close to the prince.

Lawyers for Giuffre are expected to travel to London to question the prince. The specific location for the deposition has not yet been determined.

Sigrid McCawley, a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner, the firm that represents Giuffre, on Saturday confirmed to ABC News that the date has been set. The news of the agreed-upon date was first reported by The Telegraph.

VG had to accept the terms of settlement I believe.

PA could only make an offer of settlement.

VG accepted, case closed.

It says about the settlement and his intention to make a substantial donation, but it doesn't say 'also' make a donation. (as well as the settlement)

I think it's been left like that on purpose so VG won't be accused of 'just wanting money' and 'A' will be seen as a good ole chap who wants to support trafficking victims, or so that people presume it's all gone to Charity.
Call me cynical but that's how it's being spun IMO


ETA Just read this in the DM.......

"The settlement will never be made public in court filings but the payment to Mrs Giuffre's charity may, she added"........

As stated by others, on multiple occasions, if PA did have sex with a 17 yr old, it is not a crime in England if he was not aware she was bein* trafficked.

I personally dont believe there was any doubt they had met ..its what actually happened that people have different ideas about I think,.

he didnt apologize for any harm he may have caused i dont think but by Epsteins actions more so.

Sounds like a 'friendly' settlement.


Mark Stephens, an international lawyer, said pressure from the royal family would have pushed Andrew to settle, particularly as Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Platinum Jubilee — or 70 years on the throne.

Stephens estimated that Andrew paid around $10 million to settle, having gotten the cash after selling a ski chalet at a "fire sale'' price.
He speculated that the cash would be split into three unequal portions between Ms Guiffre, her lawyers and charities.

"She's been vindicated in the sense that Prince Andrew acknowledges that she's a victim of sexual abuse."

For 11 years the Duke of York’s accuser and her legal team relentlessly pursued their case until he was forced to settle out of court......

"The Duke of York was sitting in his study when he was first confronted with the allegation that would ruin his reputation beyond repair."

“What? Who?” he spluttered. “What was the name again? Never heard of her.”

tbh if he hadnt lied about meeting her...I think maybe he would have had a lot better chance of winning but once he did the Emily Matisse interview he was on a hiding to nothing although even at that point...he could have told the truth whatever it is.
