There is no guilt or innocense in civil cases - liable or not liable.

Oh I know that … lol

On this thread it’s guilty or innocent though. So I went with that phrase.

I’m just glad that it was settled out of court, VG wouldn’t have had a walk in the park either.

I hope she finds peace.

Royal sources described the purchase at the time as 'a family investment', saying it was a nest egg for their daughters Eugenie and Beatrice.

Land Registry documents in Switzerland named the owners simply as Andrew York and Sarah Ferguson, and confirmed that it was bought with the aid of a mortgage.

Questions were raised at the time about how the couple could afford it, particularly as the Duchess had only just managed to clear £5million in debts she had run up.

Queen to help pay for £12m Prince Andrew settlement

The Duke of York will pay his accuser more than £12 million using money from the Queen, The Telegraph can disclose.

"The Queen has already privately funded the Duke's legal fight to the tune of millions of pounds and will now partly fund the settlement in order to allow her son – and the entire Royal family – to draw a line under the case that had threatened to overshadow her Platinum Jubilee year."

Queen to help pay for £12m Prince Andrew settlement

A short nursery rhyme for the current time:

The Andy & Mummy Dance

>Mummy! Mummy!
~What is it, my dearest Andy?
>I need some more money!

~Oh for Heaven's sake,
Stop being such a rake;
Too much you take!

...What will happen to Prince Andy's finances once Mummy dies and Prince Charlie steps in? How do PE and PB feel about losing their ski lodge inheritance to their father's incompetence?

Yes. Understood.

I don't think that will sway public perception though. I think most of us expect people to fight to the end if they are innocent of what they are being accused of (even though that is not always the case).

in all honesty here I dont know as here people have mixed feelings about VG also

PB and PE both seem to be married to pretty rich men tbh

I've said I don't know what happened b/t the two. It's definitely a mixed bag regarding both individuals, and I'm disappointed that we'll miss out on the 'evidence' each side would've offered.

Does it matter how rich they are? Daddy squandered their inheritance. Add it to the list of things he's screwed up, like hiding out at Mummy's for nearly two weeks instead of going and visiting his new grandbaby.

You are such a poet:)

Im learning a new concept of economy in this thread:

- Take somebody else's money
(Mum's, daughters')
- Give it to a person whom you have never met!

to be fair...they shouldnt rely on their parents for inheritance. I know I never did which was probably a good thing Lol :) But like I said they both have rich husbands and they both had good jobs if they still actually work and well if they want money they should work for it themselves although..I assume they will get quite a inheritance when their nan dies and maybe they did when Phillip died I dont know. I do agree though about missing on the evidence both side would have offered I really do. I kind of feel cheated now if that makes sense

Royal or not...really, the news should leave family matters alone. If the Queen wants to bail out her loser son, it really isn't anyone's business. A lot of parents bail out adult children with legal and financial issues.

Yes, I feel cheated as well, plus, all this popcorn is going to waste unless I give it to the birds.

At the core of it, PA betrayed his daughters. No amount of should/would/could or external money will wash away the emotional pain of that truth. We will have to agree to disagree on this one, @UK Girl!

It will open Pandora's Box, e.g. using taxpayers' money.
MOO.

The Queen will not use tax payers money to bail Andrew out, it would have serious repercussions. She has plenty of millions in her own right, as well as a ton of land and property which bring in more millions in rental income and tourist admissions.

This explains how the Crown Estate earns money. Putting it simply, the government takes at least 75% of Crown income, the monarch gets the remainder:

Royal finances: Where does the Queen get her money?

I was pretty sure that the Queen had plenty of cash, and did not need to get a kit from the public. Heck, she could sell some junk around the castle or palace to Sotheby's and not even miss it. Probably raise a ton of money.

Boies said in the article he believes the event speaks for itself. He had previously stressed that it wasnt about money and that she wanted her day in court..that she wanted an acceptance of what she had done. Well..she didnt get her day in court and hes not accepted publically what he was alleged to have done. Likewise he didnt clear himself in court. I dont think either got what they wanted or not officially anyhow.

I imagine she can raise ten million easy enough. I imagine her mother and husband also left her money and there should be money from the Chalet he sold to go towards it.

Believe me, this issue is a ticking bomb.
Im afraid, it might cause even greater scandal.
The Queen should keep away from it - as far as possible.
MOO.

So neither got what they wanted? I get the feeling that the Firm shut this trial down by pressuring PA to settle. You agree?
