UK - Prince Andrew accused of underage sexual relationship, 1999-2002 *settled* #2

  • #961
LONDON — Britain’s Metropolitan Police are “actively looking into” reports that Prince Andrew tried to obtain personal information about his accuser Virginia Giuffre, a spokesperson for the force told NBC News on Sunday.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April at the age of 41, had alleged that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her to his powerful friends, including Andrew, against whom she filed a lawsuit in 2021 alleging that he sexually abused her when she was 17.

British newspaper the Mail on Sunday reported that Andrew asked his police protection officer to investigate Giuffre before a photo was published in February 2011, showing Andrew with his arm around Giuffre. The newspaper cited an email reportedly containing a request from Andrew, not seen by NBC News...

"Small bills"??
What are "big bills" I wonder? 🤔
Did she ever work?
I seem to remember she was the author of some books for children.
Or maybe my memory plays tricks.

With such background and education
one can find a nice and interesting career to lead fulfilling life and... pay bills.

Fergie was a spokesperson for Weight Watchers for a while. I'm sure she was compensated for commercials and speaking engagements, but I don't know how long she remained in the position.

I'm not recalling how the photo of Andrew and Virginia was provided to the media in the first place. Does anyone know or remember? Was it GM who leaked it?! idk

The photograph, in which she poses in front of a post-Impressionist painting at Maxwell's home, was reproduced around the world after it was published by The Mail on Sunday on February 27, 2011.

It was the beginning of a scandal that lasted more than a decade before culminating last week when Andrew agreed to pay her a reported £12 million settlement.

As I remember correctly
the photo was given to FBI agents by Virginia when they contacted her after she left to marry an Australian guy.

Yep.
I found it.
From 2022

Quote:

"During that deposition, Giuffre said she had lent the picture to the FBI in 2011 but had last seen it before she packed up her home to emigrate.
It might, she said, be in her home, in storage at her in-laws’ or with 'seven boxes full of Nerf guns, my kids’ toys, photos'."

Thanks. I remember when the photo first appeared in news coverage, but it occurs to me how that happened hasn't been much of a discussion topic (or I have forgotten it).

It may be on the Epstein thread.

So JE said he bankrolled SF for 15 years in a 2011 email.
Back to 1996.
The year she and PA were divorced.

Yes, that's the kind of info I like. Timelines are useful! Thanks for pointing that out.

I don't understand.

Age of consent in the UK is 16. So what what would be the basis for a criminal charge?
Rape. Being 16 doesn't mean you automatically consent to sex.

Exactly how long were Epstein and Fergie friends?

Exactly how long were Epstein and Fergie friends?

  • Fergie begged to borrow $50,000 to $100,000 to help with 'small bills'
  • She asked to visit Epstein's private island, joking whether her financial woes made it 'unavailable to bankrupts?'
  • Epstein paid off debts the duchess owed a former employee but became angry when she failed to pay him back as promised
  • While disavowing Epstein in public, Fergie kept up contact and let him help set up a charity for her
  • Epstein brazenly gave Fergie 'talking points' before she was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.

The real story behind Fergie’s grovelling apology to Jeffrey Epstein

(The sordid nature of Fergie's relationship with the paedophile and the chummy tone of their correspondence makes sickening reading that will repulse the sex offender's many victims)

In April 2011, Fergie wrote to Epstein to apologise. “I know you feel hellaciously let down by me. And I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that.

“You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family,” she wrote, insisting she had been advised to condemn him publicly to avoid hurting herself and Andrew, and claimed she had never called him a paedophile.

She obviously married the right person. IMO

Divorced the right person ... but made the grave mistake of hanging on to her ex's playboy criminal evil friend.

My guess is she wanted to go to the island because powerful men were there and the scene offered grifting opportunities for her. imo

No. There is zero evidence that Fergie was involved with underage girls.

Apparently, she was attracted to him due to his wealth and what she herself could gain from him financially. I do not think she cared about his immoral behavior towards young women, I think she was apathetic towards it.

Her behavior in regards to him is reprehensible. She deserves to be dropped by all her charities - I think all of them dropped her.
