I am devastated he won’t reach 100 years of age and get a card off the Queen.

He had many faults but he did so much for the country and it will be a great loss to the Queen.

I see Fox News are in trouble for blaming Meghan and Prince Harry for his demise :D

RIP Price Philip, a true loss to the Queen and our country - my thoughts are with them and I hope the Queen is surrounded by her family at such an awfully sad and difficult time. 73 years as a life partner is a truly long time, she must be be devastated bless her.

definitely a sombre mood here in the u.k

I'm very saddened for the royal household. I used to work with the Royal Family many years ago, our poor Queen.

Flags drop, bells toll as Canadians remember special relationship with Prince Philip

''Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and an array of federal and provincial figures are paying tribute to Prince Philip and the royal's special relationship to Canada as flags across the country dropped to half-mast to mark the duke's death.

Trudeau says the Duke of Edinburgh “maintained a special relationship” with Canada's Armed Forces, noting he was colonel‑in‑chief of six Canadian units, honorary general of the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Air Force, and honorary admiral of the Royal Canadian Navy.

At the same time, he says Philip inspired millions of Canadian youth through the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and supported more than 40 organizations including the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute and the Outward Bound Trust.''

''The bells of the Peace Tower rang 99 times on Parliament Hill on Friday morning, once for every year of Philip's life.

Flags were dropped to half-mast at all government buildings in the country and abroad, and were set to remain lowered until sunset on the day of the funeral or the memorial service, which has yet to be determined.''

Where do you read that? TIA!

I've only seen glowing words, respect for him, and the Queen when I watched for about three hours this morning. Plus them putting up beautiful photos of when they both were young with the Queen so beautiful, and he was such a handsome man, and all the videos of them through the many many years they shared together.

I found it very moving, and well done.

I'm glad he probably wasn't aware of the interview as I know it had to be heartbreaking for his devoted wife, and Queen to bear. If he had been aware I know he would be hurt too at the hurtful words said. I'm thankful he didn't have that added stress to deal with, and died peacefully.

I have no doubt both the Queen, and Prince loves H&M and their baby very much.

I am far from impressed with Meghan and Harry after that Oprah nonsense but FGS the man was 99 years old and poorly,it was only a matter of time!.
It is sad news and I feel for his family but he had a really good innings and we all have to go sometime.

Prince Philip loved Harry so I hope he attends his funeral.

Harry knew he was very ill, but he never got to tell him goodbye or how much he loved him.

Organisers are keen to keep the funeral procession to a minimum to avoid attracting large gatherings and the public has been asked not to try to attend.

Meanwhile, with funerals currently limited to 30 people, the Queen may have decide who will be allowed to attend.

Family members – along with the monarch herself – could be forced to wear face coverings and socially distance with their own households.

He said a lot of very non-pc things throughout his life that many people felt offended about. Personally that's why I liked him. He was very intelligent and knew a lot so he hardly said it out of ignorance. I think he just had a creative mind and spontaneous mouth.

She has to be devastated. So many who knew them said he was her rock.

She will mourn his loss until the day she passes away herself.

My heart breaks for the Queen. She knows she has to remain strong for her people yet she is the one who needs love, and warm hugs herself.

To be with someone 73 years you must feel you've lost a part of yourself when they die. PP has truly been her Prince since she was a teen.

I can't begin to imagine the pain she must feel.

It's one thing to have your other family there, but he was the one who was there for her.... side by side her.... all of her adult life, and now she's alone to carry on without the love of her life.

Condolences to our friends across the pond.

As @AliceInPain relayed I too liked that he spoke what was on his mind.

For heaven sake the life this man led it'd take waaaaaaay more than the H &M duo to do him in.

May the Queen be surrounded by her loved ones and England.

"Prince Philip, husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, dies at 99.

A statement posted on the royal family's website Friday morning said: "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

"His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss."

His death was met with a flood of tributes from across Britain and the world. In accordance with tradition, a framed notice containing the news was also placed on the railings outside Buckingham Palace."

RIP Sir. Condolences to the family and the British people.
