Are you in the UK? I didn't know that we had official ID (ofd topic but it's interesting to see maiden name in relation to a man, I thought, maybe wrongly that was only for women)
I am.
I'm running on minimal sleep and my brain auto-piloted. It was meant to be birth surname but I hadn't had coffee at that point. I've edited it. 😅

By official ID, I mean things such as government-issued ID like passports, driving licences etc, rather than things such as a work ID card or, for younger people, College ID or Citizencards.
Some places don't accept them as valid identification even if you match the photo.

Yes, maiden name is a term meant for women only.
I'm running on 3 hours sleep today and meant birth surname aha. 🙃

This case, unfortunately, reminds me so much of the case of Nicola Bulley.

Yes, I was thinking that. Also the fact that we have heard nothing from the husband here, then remembered how the baying mob on X had crucified NB's husband practically accusing him of murder, so you can't be surprised in anyone not wanting to be public.

I realise people often keep previous names in marriage but I wonder why she is being referred to as Booth. It appears on her FB she classes herself as Langley
I am wondering if it is to protect the family from 'well meaning' members of the public and press hounds.

The phone would pinpoint last location I would imagine. Also, a road runs alongside the water park.

Rachel's mother shares appeal

Rachel's mother Chrissie Widdowson shared an appeal to find her daughter this morning.

In a post shared to Facebook, Ms Widdowson uploaded a clip including a photo of Rachel at the garage and descriptions of her.

A caption on the clip said: "News update: Possible sighting by two people in cars, believe to have seen Rachael (sic) Booth hitchhiking (attempting) wearing a yellow coat walking in Minshull towards Crewe."

According to google it takes an experienced runner between 50 minutes to an hour to run 6 miles (approx distrance from home to garage) - so that run is feasible IF Rachel was a runner. I have no idea why she was going to Wild Shore, perhaps Rachel and her phone were seperated beforehand?

I can’t reconcile how it’d be possible for her to have a yellow jacket, given that she hasn’t got one in the garage CCTV. I think these sightings are a red herring, unfortunately.

The mentioned shared appeal by her mum..she confirms Rachael was not in her car..she was "on foot"

Did she have any connections in Crewe? Minshull right on the outskirts of Crewe and probably 30-40 minutes (by car) so think police have it right looking as locally as possible first and any large water masses.

It's about 20 mins in the car.

Has LE been silent on whether she carried a phone with her?

It would be good if either her family or the police confirmed if Rachel owned a yellow jacket or not, if she didn't then it probably isn't her.

I think the general assumption is that the bulge in her leggings is a phone in the pocket which seems reasonable and also maybe how she paid for the shopping as she doesnt appear to have anything in her hands in the CCTV stills.

I agree, for now I'm discounting those sightings, hitchhiking is a very unusual thing to do nowadays, especially for a lone woman

Any idea what time she actually left home initially?

But then again we also have that lady who has come forward stating her son saw her at the petrol station and wanted a lift to Knutsford (He has now given a statement to police) This was on SM so delete if not allowed.

I feel like the eyewitness statements could be mistakes but also they are saying they are hours after the last sighting so she definitely had time to change or something.

The police did appeal for her to reach out if she saw it so I don’t feel they have confirmation of anything completely nefarious yet

Does she regularly stop at that shop after a run? Maybe she runs that distance, picks up needed items at the store and then takes an uber/lyft to return home??
