This is so sad. I feel awful for her poor children a time where they should be spending their summer relaxing and care free they are now dealing with the loss of their mum

How very sad... I hope the family are being fully supported 😞

RIP. I suspect this was the presumed outcome from the start.

In a statement, the force said: ‘Police searching for a missing woman have sadly found a body.

‘Rachel Booth was reported missing by her family. Officers have been searching tirelessly for the 38-year-old since her disappearance.

‘Following extensive appeals and searches in the area, officers have now sadly recovered a body in a lake in Oakmere.

‘Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of Rachel. Her family have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers

Why would she buy milk and wine? Is the garage near where she lives?
There is a drink mix, comprised of milk and wine that is currently popular thanks to Tik Tok. The drink is similar to Espanhoa. Since it has been specified there are no suspicious circumstances, perhaps this poor woman decided on that beverage to take as her final drink and/or to assist in her taking her life.

There's about 200 suicides a year in UK waters. I don't know what percentage are female.
But maybe seeing these highly publicised stories results in some mentally fragile people getting the idea to do it too.
I remember Gaynor Lord was meant to have to said to someone she wants to be like Nicola Bulley (I know Nicola’s wasn't ruled as suicide though)

I noticed while reading Media reports
(in my country)
that men usually end in water due to accidents while intoxicated.
Wherever there is a river, it seems like a magnet to drunk men.

But in women's case,
it seems to be depression :(

But it is Only My Opinion!!!
My observation.
Is it reality?
IDK.

The high publicity in recent years of women drowning/ending their lives in water has probably fuelled the rise. I think it's interesting (if that's not too morbid) that the women have all been mothers - not wanting their family to find their body perhaps? Knowing it will be specialists who are likely to find them instead. I don't know, just a thought. MOO

Perhaps it's more to do with choosing somewhere peaceful and scenic for reflection in their last moments.

Suicide by drowning isn’t violent and kinder to those left behind if that is the right word. One of my relatives tragically committed suicide by drowning in a lake in the 1960s.

Entering a body of water is a subconscious return to the 'womb', imo.

IMO
It is terrible death - by suffocation :(

I once started drowning in a lake as a young teen.
My cousin caught me to save me
but I gripped her with inhuman strength around her neck
and we nearly both drowned.
Horrific experience :(

Why stop off to buy household goods if you are contemplating this ? I'm sure I read witnesses saw her hitch hiking - surely that's more plausible , that she ended up taking a bad ride from a stranger .

Perhaps she bought the milk to drink as she was thirsty after running.

Rest in Peace, Rachel.

We all wanted a different ending. So sorry to read the news.

Why are we assuming suicide? Did I miss something?

I wouldn’t jump to suicide faster than a drunk accident

I'm very sorry about the sad outcome for Rachel.

I do find it strange that she would buy items from a shop and then go to the water/lake.
However, the police and family will know more than I.

I still find it a strange time for Rachel to be out. Perhaps it's more to do with where I live, but there is no way I would be out in my area, at that time alone.

RIP Rachel.
