Indeed, I've seen pictures if him looking absolutely devastated.

I do hate how in this day and age we've become so pessimistic that we are so quick to jump to conclusions about the family of those that go missing. Its a sad state of affairs but guess it reflects the current way of the world.

I'm withholding judgement on the family at present. Who knows how we would react if we were in a similar situation. Aside from the behaviour/lack of behaviour of the family is there really anything to suggest they may be involved?

I learned an important lesson on another thread. Another missing girl, and I was absolutely 100% convinced her father (who was a RSA) was the guilty party. No doubt in my mind. His background, demeanor, and those shifty eyes.... As it turned out, he was completely innocent. So I learned that looks and demeanor can be very deceiving, indeed.

What's an RSA?

You can only base things on what you've read.

The 28 hours reporting her missing (all cleared up now of course!), the bizarre blood comment, the no sightings of her leaving the house, the 2 trips back to the family home. You don't need to go back a second time & treat the house as if a crime has been committed if you haven't found anything suspicious, unless of course you haven't examined the full house yet.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I have mine. Ive followed cases where the parents have looked absolutely devastated before, it means nothing. I do think its someone she knows but I've been wrong before so I could be here. I'm not blaming it entirely on the family, I'm just saying some things are very bizarre. When I say someone she knows, Im not aiming it entirely at the family.

Hopefully more updates today.

So with my caveat statements already made, I will say NatalieLouise, that my "hinky meter" has gone off as well. But I am resisting the impulse to jump to a conclusion, but my eyebrow is raised. You are right, something is off at the parents house.

Of course you have your opinion. I just don't want to become blindsided by just one possibility when it could be completely wrong.

Also I kinda feel sorry for families in this situation. Firstly because they're in a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation. No emotion - they had to have done it. Too much emotion - its an act

Secondly, if I was in theirs (and other situation) I would hate to think that there are people who don't even know me but are pre judging me based on my actions/behaviour/whats been reported in the news. I'd want to spend my time focussing on finding my daughter rather than having to disect how I should/shouldn't behave JMO

Argh posts are coming up all out of order today. Apologies if it seems im all over the place

Seems like people can't express or have their own opinion without others having a sly dig. I've seen arguments on threads before because someone doesn't like someone else's opinion. Shame really as were all here for the same thing & I'm not here to argue. But to help bring this poor girl home.

I've not once said I think the dad has done it. Maybe he has an idea who has? Or a suspicion? I'm just saying the comment he made on Facebook 11 times in 3 minutes is bizarre, that's all.

I do think its somebody she knows but I'm not single handily accusing the dad or step mum.

It's the no positive sightings that I can't get my head around. A stranger, a passerby in a car, a neighbour. No one has said that they have seen her.

I just hope this beautiful girl is found safe & well :( but as time goes on, it's very unlikely.

"There is no rule that states that you have to wait 24 hours to report a missing person. It depends on the person who is missing, their age, mental state and vulnerability.

If the missing person is a child, elderly or a person in a very depressed state then you need to alert the police straight away."

What To Do If You Think Someone Is Missing
If you are worried about someone who you think may be missing, contact the police. There is no time limit on when you can make a report. You don't, for example, have to wait 24 hours.
The easiest ways to report a person missing are by calling the police or going to a police station (You can find a list of all our police stations here). ...

I don't see how she wouldn't be classed as vulnerable and why they were told to wait. She's a young allegedly shy girl who won't even go to a shop till alone who has gone missing.

It's not mentioned anything on any article that they reported her missing straight away but was asked to wait.

"Police say Becky was first reported missing at 4pm on Friday - 28 hours after she was last seen by anyone.

According to Avon & Somerset Police she was last seen at 11.15 am on Thursday."

Surely the police would know if they rang up prior to that but was told to wait? Above says the police said the first time was a full 28 hours after she was last seen.

Agreed - when my 16yr old brother went missing we were informed that as he was 16 with no factors which would deem him vulnerable/high risk the he would be treated as a low risk adult thus he could not be officially recorded/repirted as missing for 24 hours

Where did Becky stay the night before? Not with her best friend as I've seen interview (will search for link) where she states she spoke to becky via phone the night before, implying she wasn't with her

Sorry if this has been posted already, it's The Daily Mirror which is a tabloid & information from them is not always true.
MOO

It say's they searched Trooper's Hill, near Chipping Sodbury in the text but then the pictures are labelled Trooper's Hill,St.George...

So colour me confused but my initial gut reaction is the one closer to her house is correct...This one is 0.9 miles/17 mins walking from her place.

I know we're not allowed to sleuth b/f,but wonder if he lives up that way...she was supposed to be meeting up with him wasn't she?

Slightly O/T,but looking at the map again I realised just how close to my old home this is.I used to live on Whitehall Avenue, which is the road Crown Hill turns into&walk my dog everyday in the field that backs onto Crown Hill.I also ran the Whitehall Tavern.

Hope she is found safe & soon.

MOO

I was just wondering would there be any proof from the police that says that the family tried to report her missing any earlier?

Her dad said she stayed at a friends. Don't know which friend this was. Why hasn't that friend come forward to say she was there?

Id assume they would definitely have some record if it on their system.

I'm at work currently so apologies if the above picture doesn't work or is poor quality.

Basically a photo of a tweet by an ITV reporter - beckys grandad states :she has her wanderings but she comes home" slight contradiction to whats been protrayed previously

Massive contradiction imo!!

Perhaps that is why she wasn't deemed as an high risk misper. Or perhaps if comments made by family are incorrect, why 28 hours went by before she was reported missing

@MirrorAsp: More activity at the home of #beckywatts this afternoon as three large police vans turn up and officers with Welsh uniforms enter. #bristol

Did the parents take, and pass, a polygraph?
