According to DG's FB page, she left the house on Thursday morning to meet her boyfriend, but she never arrived. So the boyfriend went there to find her. So IMO if she was planning to just pop round to his place- presuming it is close by- she would not necessarily bring her purse or charger- but laptop sure! I bring mine everywhere - even to go see a friend as I will show photos or something funny I have seen on youtube etc etc. Even listen to some music.

And she does not come across as shy and reserved online at all. Maybe that got her into trouble- she looks like a confident young girl who would probably attract a hell of a lot of male attention and looks like she knew how to do that online. But with her shy personality, if she was approached would she fight or run or be completely out of her depth?

I've not seen that on his page and I thought I'd looked at all posts. When was this?

Everyone's different but if I wanted to show someone photos or things on YouTube, I'd show them on my iPhone as its so much easier.. Wouldn't need to bring a laptop for that. Like I said though, everyone's different but just my opinion.

I thought the dad was at work so how would he know when she left? The stepmum was the last to see her when she left for her appointment. How would either know when she left seen as they both wasn't in when she was at home? Dad was at work, stepmum was leaving for appointment & Rebecca was still in the house & didn't mention any plans...

If that is the case, why didn't anyone report her missing earlier then? She doesn't turn up to meet her boyfriend, her phone is dead and she hasn't returned home by midnight ...... yet nobody contacts the police until the next day? It just isn't adding up to me. Of course the family could be totally innocent and she might have disappeared herself, but why the lack of panic when nobody could find her or contact her?

How do they specifically know the laptop went missing the same day she did?

She'd stayed at a friends the night before -could it have been there? Could it in fact have been left elswhere days earlier? Taking a tablet/phome amd tablet seems overkill (excuse the pun)

Let me check for you... he posted it on Feb 21st. Main status. June 2011 he makes some interesting posts about the rebellious nature of Rebecca- bunking off school etc. I think the shy retiring type they are describing is a lot at odds with her fb page and videos of her and the whole boyfriend aspect- although at the same time I read her best friend make reference to how painfully shy she is as well. SO confused!

Wouldn't they check the friends house she stayed at the night before? Surely if she left it at her friends, the friend would return it? A laptop missing is pretty vital in an investigation like this as it could hold potential evidence.

I'm quite shy but I still take selfies and have had boyfriends but speaking to the bank/a takeaway/my phone company etc makes me very nervous & I just can't bring myself to do it. Yet when I've had a drink I'll speak to anyone I bump into  Just saying some people are shy in certain aspects but not others :)

Any new updates?

It could but when I was that age -not so long ago- my stuff could be lost in my friends room for weeks on end and vice versa. Doesn't have to be the friends she stayed with the night before and friend in question may not realise its still there. Or perhaps Becky broke it but didn't want parents to know so pretended she still had it??

I just keep wondering what the suspicious items were that were handed over to the police.. I read it in an article.

And if I went a friends with my laptop or vice versa, it would most likely be in my bedroom where we hung out/chatted etc. I can't see a laptop being left at somebody's house being misplaced but again I could be very wrong :) I just really hope this beautiful girl is found safe and well but I'll be honest, I don't think that she will :(

Bit delicate and weird to Facebook that about your own daughter. Just my opinion. Seems like something to excuse her blood in the house. Again, JMO.

Good thinking. There has to be some reason behind such a bizarre statement.

Does anyone think it really strange there is nothing being said by the boyfriend?

I mean her BFF is giving interviews, her family are making appeals... yet the boyfriend changes his profile pic that day and posts nothing public on fb about her missing?

Aren't teens moderately more involved than that? Unless he is being advised not to? Or I have missed something...

Oh and why the last names Watts? Not the same as her dad and less contact with the mother than the father- so that is another thing I have not been able to explain- any ideas? Did someone say it matched grandmothers name?

I have come across something else weird- I was checking the boyfriend's page and who was recently friended- and there is another young girl with the same last name as Rebecca- would be presuming that is a sibling- or cousin. Sheer presumption now- They look a bit alike also- anyway- also no mention of anything- updated profile picture yesterday - nothing to do with the search. Just seems a bit strange...

Not really because she was last seen by her stepmum at home allegedly on Thursday and there's been no positive sightings of her leaving the house or her boyfriend going there (as far as I know!) & he was at the dentist the day she was officially "seen" by her step mum at home which could easily be confirmed by the dentist if true.

I know I've said this a few times but i really love to know when someone last officially seen her other than the family. I think its important information. She could have been missing so much longer! Texts mean nothing as it could be anyone. I havent got facebook so I can't check but the boyfriend hasn't made any appeals at all on facebook? You'd think he would really. Also seen no mention of him joining in the search for her. All very strange indeed I must agree! Hmm

Very weird. You'd expect her own boyfriend to be appealing for her safe return! I'm not sure if I've read it cos I've read so many articles but how long have they been together, do we know? I wish I could check his Facebook now! I wonder if their relationship was good/bad.

If that is the case, then it appears that the family have NOT been advised to keep quiet. Wonder if there is a reason why the police seem to be happy for them to release all sorts of information into the public domain.

From the daily mail:

Courtney said texts were later sent from Rebecca's phone to her boyfriend Luke about meeting up later that day, but he did not reply because he was having dental work.
She said the pair had been dating for a few months, and his home had been searched by police, but added: 'He is in the same predicament as I am.
