[h=3]'I was surprised when Nathan agreed to come visit my mum'[/h]Hoare is now being asked about visits she made with Matthews to her mum Lisa Donovan after Becky’s murder.
She had not seen her mum for four years.
Hoare said it was her idea to make the visits - but she was not expecting Matthews to agree to it.
She said: “I was surprised.”

So ..... Becky's * disappearance* caused SH to want to get back in touch with her mother - but she then did not mention Becky at all to her mother, which would have been natural surely, being as Becky had been the reason ( allegedly !!! ) for the reunion. And, in fact, SH was quite prickly when her mother LD mentioned Becky and her first comment back to her mother was How do you know I know Becky !!!

Police met the couple at SH mum's home. SH says at this stage she thought #beckywatts was still alive and off with her friends.

SH recalls being given a lift home from her mothers house on Feb 23 after NM arranged a lift with Karl Demetrius and another male.

I think they'll get to cross exam after lunch. They'll probably rush her through this evidence - the least said the least it can be picked apart by the prosecution IMO

its making him nervous by the sounds of it - he has no control over this.

I thought...though I may be wrong...that it was NM who spoke to stepfather as he asked him to keep it a secret from SH mom

what the? she has spent some time coming up with that one.

Yeah, all these 'coincidences' that just happened to fall into NM's lap.

Just when he needed to keep the police away from the house, SH decides she wants to visit her mum for the first time in years.

She takes an unusually long time to smoke a cigarette - just enough time to murder someone and get their body out of the house.

Coincidentally, she falls asleep just when he needs to bring some men into the house, and she sleeps long enough and soundly enough that they can remove all sorts of things from the loft just outside her bedroom door.

And. luckily for him, she doesn't go to the toilet very often - very convenient for someone dismembering a body in the only room with a working toilet.

You couldn't make it up .......... oh wait!

SH: went to bed when got home and wasn't aware of any movement in house. This was night Becky's remains were moved to garden shed 80m away.

Probably didn't like the comment SH made about him being slightly happier than usual buying the cleaning products etc.

This part confuses me. Was this the same day the body parts were moved? So NM got KD&JI to collect them from her mothers, then home, then pack the van, then round to KD's shed?

EDIT lightbulb moment, just realised it's so their car wasn't outside the house overnight, since they'd told police they weren't home. Sorry for being a bit dense there! Wouldn't they be bricking it that they were being watched though?!

Just a thought, Mods, but if you're unable to verify Retribution before this trial ends could we possibly have a Parking Lot thread for Becky? I saw this happen in another case recently (Kyrian Knox) when the speculation got too much. Pretty please?

ooh, what is that?

It's an area of the forum that only members can see (unlike this thread which can be read by anybody) and it's also known as "downstairs". There's not a huge amount going on down there so you've not missed anything, but a secondary thread for this case would be mighty useful right now as we could discuss things more freely. Can someone link it?

Great idea!

Parking Lot is here

Even though she had reposted Becky's dad's Facebook appeal for women to check the underwear of any men, as he believe Becky had been sexually assaulted and didn't think she had run away?

[h=3]'I thought she was still alive'[/h]The jury heard Hoare and Matthews were driving to her mum’s house that evening when the police phoned asking to search their home.
Officers were waiting for the couple when they got to mum Lisa’s home.
Hoare was asked what she thought had happened to Becky at that stage.
She said:”I thought she was still alive. I thought the police were just wanting to find out as much information as they can.
“I think I was becoming more concerned.
“I just thought she would be off with her friends somewhere.”
