I hope the judge corrects those comments. They seem a bit much to me.

He also said "I'm not asking you to feel sorry for SH, though if she's innocent she has in any view had a wretched few months".
IF! I don't think he even convinced himself.

I saw this coming and surely most of you too: today we would feel 'depressed' after her defense barrister's speech...

So in the "Shauna is Innocent story" I wonder when NM puts the batteries into the stun gun? First he'd be driving then they go straight into the house. Is it another thing he supposedly did in that 15-20 minute time frame?

Well, being as he can unpeel sellotape with one hand and use a circular saw to make precision cuts with his eyes closed, then I imagine popping a few batteries into a stun gun while he's nipping up the stairs, would be a doddle for him

No. They are not allowed to discuss their deliberations and verdict with anyone. Ever.

In the final movement of Mahler’s 6th Symphony, the composer calls for a Hammerschlag (a hammer blow) to represent the knocking of fate. The little pic above of the judge banging his gavel as part of your orchestra made me think of that.

Fate is knocking for these defendants.

The judge will give a detailed summing up of the entire case. It will be lengthy, because he will need to talk about all four defendants individually. He will also instruct the jury, which includes clarifying the question of joint enterprise.

I wonder if this is to do with the prosecution's closing speech, in which he talked about DD actually assisting in handling the packages. As far as I recall no evidence was ever presented that he was directly involved in that, but the prosecution spoke as if there was.

We have joint enterprise here too so if Sh is found to have been part of the kidnap plan she could be found guilty of murder even if she wasn't the one to murder her. I know there's some case that's been in the news where a getaway driver in a bank robbery was convicted of murder under that law because somebody was shot dead during the robbery.

Personally I'm still not convinced there was a kidnap plan. It could be a spur of the moment sexual assault gone wrong (Becky died lying on her back on a hard surface with a hand over her mouth, so he could've been on top of her) or Becky catching him watching or videoing her (He's also up on an unrelated voyeurism charge and an unrelated sexual assault charge). He could then have come up with the kidnap plan as a backstory, thinking it made him sound like some kind of heroic moral crusader, rather than a sex pest.

I think more will come out after the trial. Remember in Jo Yeates' case, it all came out afterwards that Vincent Tabak had downloaded of petite blond girls with short hair being strangled during sex. Perhaps there is stuff like this that has been deemed inadmissible. I'm sure what actually happened will become clearer when the trial is over. People will go to the press with stories.

I wonder how much the fact of only 11 people on the Jury might become a problem ?

ie; with 12 and 2 disagreeing with the majority, then 10-2 majority would work

with 11 and 2 disagreeing - are they allowed a 9 - 2 ? I think someone posted on here yesterday that it has to be 10 - 1
