But an accidental suffocation when trying to stop someone shouting and screaming is a lot nicer than "I just punched her once in the face to knock her out and then did that strangling thing to really make sure she was unconscious" which is NM's story. And a lot more believable for a manslaughter charge in my opinion.

If he accidentally killed her (without having any plan to cause her harm) then why wouldn't he just call an ambulance? To take away a body, store it, dismember it and then dump it seems to me to be a very extreme way of dealing with an accident.

Its all one big pack of lies. I think they are covering up something much worse than the horror they are willing to let people believe.

I totally agree. I think that what NM states happened would pale by comparison with what actually took place.
And, I know it has been pointed out on here before, but I was reminded again today of that part in one of NMs statements, where he says

I should be able to remember more

Ah sorry, my mistake. That sounds far worse than the scenario I had thought of. Crosses and Vampires - awful.

No need to apologise , they only said "might" have been caused before death so still leaves the option that it was after.

I just think with it being the neck, there might be some link to their viewing of vampire related stuff on the nights they had her body there. But I dont know enough about the whole "vampire scene" to be sure.

it is in the pathologist's evidence she was suffocated by a hand over her mouth and nose.

and on a hard surface, so not on the bed.

This is exactly what I want the judge to direct on
but added in - if you believed the Def is lying at what point do you discount all their testimony as an unreliable witness and thus then move on to the rest of the circumstantial evidence. ( there is case law on this. etc )

Plus if you can discount NM's testimony ( strike it through) you discount his testimony on his points about SH not being involved.

Exactly. We (ok the jury lol) are expected to question if he's telling the truth about SH not being involved but not question if he's telling the truth about the kidnap plan.

15 abdominal stab wounds. even if they thought it would stop the body expanding, or whatever the explanation was, 15!! to me it sounds more like an act of gratuitous violence which they derived pleasure or satisfaction from.

If he was traumatised by accidentally killing his step sister etc and a supposedly innocent SH suggested Underworld , there is no way an accidental killer would have watched that IMO

I've seen the Underworld movies but too old to do all the Vampire Diaries stuff.

I wonder how they can tell all of those things, especially when the pm was done on a body in 8 different parts with lots of post mortem damage done to it? Not doubting them, I'm actually amazed they can find out in so much detail.

Being suffocated by a hand over her mouth on a hard surface is totally different to MN's story. Where is the house was there a hard floor? Would a floor with carpet count as a hard surface, or would that mean something more along the lines of a bathroom with lino or tiled flooring?

standing - up against a wall?

Wasn't the 'I should be able to tell you more' during a video interview? It was discussed way back and some believed he was saying 'should' as he was stopped by his solicitor and then resumed the interview so it was more of it should be okay for me to tell you rather than I should be able to tell you but I can't cause it wasn't me ...

It's not "better" but it is quicker and uses less force and is therefore more believable as manslaughter - not that I believe him, just saying

And if it's quicker, more "possible" it could have happened in the timespan given

I guess I just can't imagine a situation where somebody could innocently have their hands around someone's throat in the way I could imagine somebody innocently covering somebody's mouth with their hand.

Yes, this is a big problem to me. There's no excuse for not calling an ambulance, and I would expect that in the case of a genuine accident, it would be natural to involve the other person in the house ("OMG, what have I done? She's not dead, is she?") whereupon that person might well be the one to call the ambulance.

Even the prosecution ridiculed his version of the kidnap plan. Masterful disguise, deep voice and all. I doubt the jury are being asked to swallow his utter nonsense - they are however being asked to decide if NM/SH had a plan (discussed or implicit) to kidnap (as in carry and take away) Becky.

I don't know why but I keep thinking the kitchen. But then I think why would Becky run from upstairs to the kitchen rather than out of the front door at the bottom of the stairs... oh, unless it was locked and the key removed!

I think they said lying on her back

a wall would also bruise her back if she was slammed against it hard. same as lying on a hard surface, but in an upright position.

Not having seen the movies , what kind of thing would it have that an accidental killer wouldnt want to watch? My entire knowledge of vampires is that they drink blood from biting the victims neck and don't like crosses or garlic. I'm guessing that's a little outdated.

I think it would require mouth and nose to be covered for suffocation.

I'm thinking they must have some way of telling the difference otherwise they'd have given both options.
