I didn't suggest that they were "hardened killing machines" but you don't find many pacifists in the armed forces.

What I would say is that a large amount of people join the forces for the sake of a stable, guaranteed career. Others do it to escape bad home lives, or areas they are from which have high levels of unemployment. People who are in care often join as its like an extension of what they know - being told what to do, being looked after, decisions made for them. I think there are very few people who join up because they want to kill people. And when my husband was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can tell you that not a single one of his colleagues wanted to go. They knew the chances of getting killed or maimed were very high (Afghanistan was horrific the time they were there) and none of them were 'up for it'.

I had missed this from the judge to jurors (yesterday). In case others did, too:

"You must decide this case only on the evidence which has been placed before you. There will be no more," he added.

"You are entitled to draw inferences; that is come to common sense conclusions based on the evidence which you accept.

"But you may not speculate about what evidence there might have been or allow yourselves to be drawn into speculation or speculate why witnesses have not been called."

RE NM and the army. His facebook page says "worked at British Army" and the pic looks like he's in army gear. Mark Bridger also lied having been in the army, though I don't think Bridger had even been in the TA.

Gosh that's a hard one to answer.
Maybe NM was attracted to her for some time. Now those gangly limbs and stick thin body had transpired into a vision of beauty.
Maybe he'd had a crush on her for sometime.
Then again maybe NM thought she was easy game. To feed his n SH's fantasies.
16 being the legal age of consent. There wouldn't be an issue of underage. Etc etc.
BW was on their own doorstep. So to speak. Not like in the text messages...where they seen pretty 16 year olds in shops. I mean how for you explain a way to get 16 year old girls back to your home with out looking odd or suspicious.
BW was a ready made package. They just had to bundle her up and go!
Sorry if this sounds heartless. But thinking like a profiler.
The pivotal role in all of this was AG.

didn't SH say to the police wtte - 'as far as I know she was still a virgin'

co-incidence? was time running out with Becky having a newish (3 month?) boyfriend? had she only very recently had the contraceptive implant fitted?

Well Gigi yes. It isn't as awkward as I expected !
Start at the bottom of the wall, immediately above the bath. Pull out 12 inches of clingfilm and press onto the tiles, then pull across, easy peasy. If done in a horizontal way it works. Just press and it sticks to the tiles.

As to the suitcase if anyone is curious = I am 5'8" and 9 st. 12 oz. so quite large in comparison to RW. I have attempted in many ways to get into a suitcase measuring min. 10" deep, 16" wide and 24 long (a large suitcase). I can't do it. I can get my body in various ways, but there is never room enough for my head as well.

I see this does sound utterly ridiculous, but was all important to satisfy myself of various facts.
Honestly I am just a normal person. :shame:

Yes, yes. The Video was.
Her 17th birthday was a few months away.
And the fact that she was very much besotted with LO. And they (NM & SH) would of seen the two together I'm sure as he lived almost opposite.
Maybe that was set the wheels in motion.

Why then? One theory I had was they were concerned she might become more sexually active soon, and they would lose their opportunity to defile her while in the state they fantasized about (virgin)

Also, SH was pregnant with twins and probably not interested in sex with him - plus she would have been gaining weight so he may not have been so attracted to her. She may have been interested in Becky, or she may have been more bothered about NM getting his 'fix' from someone, so long as it wasn't her.

But remember the discussion bout the "16 ish" in the texts twixt SH & NM - don't you think the implication was the younger the teen the better ?
16 was put in, as almost an in-joke between them, as long as you say you thought x was 16 etc etc.

Think we'll find he had a thing for sweet 13, 14, etc too.
