GUILTY UK - Sadie Hartley, 60, murdered, Helmshore, Lancs, 14 Jan 2016 #2

"She ignored her mother’s opposition to the relationship and remained his devoted mistress until Sadie Hartley’s murder."

I hardly think she qualifies for the term "devoted". :giggle:

Yesterday Williams’ dad Chris, who is separated from her mother, said: “I have spoken to Sarah’s mum and we are just in shock. We have wondered if her abduction in her childhood affected her more than we thought.
”

I thought the abduction story had been debunked? It sounds as if her father still believes it happened.

Actually, I do wonder if she did undergo *something* in her childhood which caused the warping of her personality and attitude towards sex in general.

Agree Ellmau, it does sound as though her father still wants to believe the story. Perhaps he just didn't want to accept the other explanation re the older man she was allegedly seeing.

It would be interesting to know what happened in her early years to create the person she became. I can see how being at private school on a scholarship and having less money than her classmates could lead to her being attracted to older people who could provide her with the money she lacked, but it is a huge leap from that to her becoming a psycopathic killer.

If this is right it clears up whether the house was owned or rented. Other than that no new info in the article.
The luxury home where Sadie Hartley was stabbed to death has been put up for sale by her *heartbroken family.

The five-bedroom property is on the market for £535,000 but the estate agent’s blurb makes no mention of the horrific murder by evil Sarah Williams in January.

Businesswoman Mrs Hartley’s love-rat partner Ian Johnston has complained of having “lost everything” after being kicked out of the house and left out of her will.

Thanks Jerrica - am hoping it will be well done and perhaps even tell us a few things we didnt learn from the trial

I am eager to see their body language and reactions when it all starts unfolding.

hey guys here's a couple of teasers for tonight's docu.

They both have Kit appearing, that's Kit of the "3 day memory"!!
Be interested to hear you reactions after seeing this, especially anyone who knows them personally.

I think it's going to be fascinating for us because we followed it from the start of the trial and the crew have followed this from pre-arrest.

Thanks for the reminders, didn't realise it was 90 minutes long, could be quite in-depth.

I would have liked to have seen more of the interviews with SW. Apart from when she was arrested and looked startled ( who wouldnt when police break in at 3am ) she came across as very cool the rest of the time.

I think Walsh's acting skills were very poor. Her attempt to do panic attacks was abysmal. Again, would like to have known what parts of the diary she destroyed.

Also, I wonder why she was staying with DH after SW was arrested ? Wonder how that went down with RH ?

Charlotte's comments reduced me to tears. Particularly when she said her mother was so reasonable and would have talked things through with anyone. I seriously hope neither of them appeal, although I doubt any appeal would be upheld.

I'm just watching it on +1.

I sooooo wish ALL cases had this kind of documentary!!

Kit and her acting skills were both pathetic. 'The zappy zappy with the squeezy squeezy' (paraphrasing).

In all, it did seem a very professional police investigation and I'm glad to see how much resources they seemed to allocate to it.

Wow! Still a bit shell shocked after watching that. I persuaded my (young adult) son to watch it with me (who knew nothing about the case) and he was glued to the screen. First of all, both of these women were clearly 'not the full ticket' as we would say. Strange individuals both of them and that's being kind. Williams with her wonky eyes (did anyone else notice that?) and cool demeanour and then the toe curlingly awful acting of Walsh. Who on earth did she think she was kidding? Hugely impressed with the police work and just their commitment to finding Sadie's killers and bringing them to justice. When they got a full match of Sadie's DNA on the blood found in Williams' bathroom, the reaction of everyone in the briefing room showed how invested they were. Ian Johnson was notable by his absence with only occasional mentions and brief glimpses outside court at the end.

Absolutely fascinating and as someone wrote previously - wouldn't it be amazing if all cases had this kind of documentary coverage?

Hope the following video is available globally.

Walsh with the 3 day memory was hilarious with her attempts to fool LE and the doctors into thinking she was mad as a hatter.

And Williams with her 75 year old boyfriend, a married man who left his wife's bed at 5am every morning to sneak into the psychos bed.

These pair really deserved a full life sentence each for the months of 'planning' that went into the 'perfect murder'.

RIP Sadie

Well, Kit was a strange one, wasn't she? Did you notice on all the CCTV of the pair, SW would always be walking a few feet in front of KW all the time?

Was also surprised at how unattractive SW was, how did she manage to snag so many men??

Kit was very much the devotee wasn't she.....

I think SWs appeal was that she was available. With the exception of one ski instructor, the other 3 men we know about were either married or, in IJs case, in a serious relationship ( well he was supposed to be ) so she was the * bit on the side * and looks were less important that ready access. She was clearly a very needy person and no doubt that was flattering to the men, until they tired of her, then it became overbearing.

DH probably enjoyed the image of having a much younger girlfriend and was prepared to pay well for this service. Despite the fact that many people probably thought she was his daughter or even grand daughter - no fool like an old fool as the saying goes.

Thanks for posting the video, Jellybeanz, would not have seen it otherwise, not being in the UK. Thought it was excellent and take my hat off to your police force.
And to think for most of the trial I felt sorrier for Kit as to her involvement!! Well, she's definitely no less culpable than SW in my mind. What a pathetic, yet devious display by her of attempting to portray herself as an innocent victim in this whole thing.
SW's calmness is just frightening. Did you notice her lazy eye was drooping much more noticeably by the end of the 5th interview - wondered if this was an outward sign of stress she was showing.
Regarding RH - just cannot fathom how she could have turned a blind eye to her husband and SW for all these years... Not fair to judge, but it's sickening too and to still be with him now!
By the way, have just read a book on the infamous Mary Bell case from years ago and she served the remainder of her sentence as an adult in Styal. She gave quite a detailed account of every day life there and it did not seem, even then in the 80's, such a bad place as far as prisons go and would have, I'm sure, improved since then. So, SW's life sentence there might not be so bad but she is incarcerated and institutionalised for life which is satisfying.
