and it is apparent that they are not at all interested in any of the flats inside the building?

It doesn't appear so from reports but still possible I guess if it's not in view.

Updates on missing Sarah Everard as block of flats is cordoned off

The search for missing London woman Sarah Everard has moved to a new stage this afternoon (Tuesday, March 9) as police have cordoned off a block of flats close to the spot where she was last seen.

Police tape has been put up outside Poynders Court, on Poynders Road, with a police officer guarding an entrance.

The last sighting of the marketing manager was on Poynders Road, not far from Clapham Common.

Poynders Road itself has been cordoned off while police work at the scene.

The missing 33-year-old left her friend's house on the other side of Clapham Common at around 9pm on Wednesday, March 3, but disappeared on her way back to her home in Brixton.

[..]

There is a heavy police presence outside Poynders Court and police vans are at the scene.

Police in overalls have been seen going into the building, but the Met Police have yet to confirm anything around the new activity.

Speaking to My London on Monday (March 8), her cousin Tom Everard said: "Sarah's absolutely amazing, she's lovely and she's fantastic. So sensible. So well-loved by her family, by her friends, by everyone.

"There is nothing dodgy or sordid about Sarah in the slightest. And this is so totally out of character for her that we just need to get her home.

It has just occurred to me that perhaps by the police drawing the attention towards Poynders tonight, they could perhaps keep other resources’ eyes on the perp in a different location to see if they let their guard down and perhaps dispose of other evidence - just a thought and it may have already been mentioned

They do, but you'd typically see a tent go up if it's outside to preserve evidence and stop people viewing.
I'm just wondering - from viewing the grid search on the adjacent land - just why have they not got a tent up? I must admit, I have never seen forensics being undertaken in public view

I was about to say that the Rodenhurst corner looks like it would be pretty sketchy and dark at night, I can easily picture some weirdo hanging around in there. However now people are uploading footage of the area at night, it's much lighter than I had imagined. The whole surrounding Poynders area is actually. Quite a lot of street light and ambient light from all directions. Ignoring the forensic lights ofcourse. This case is perplexing.

It’s certainly fascinating to see the painstaking work in action

My gut feeling based on what is public is that they're looking in detail at obvious potential locations around the phone dying before we get a load of rain tomorrow. Police are either playing 3D chess here or are having real trouble finding substantial evidence... Just my opinion.

The pics of such close forensic attention to the kerb and roadside are really intriguing. As previously advertised, my eyes and/or resolution aren't sharp enough to really pick out anything of interest, but clearly something has attracted their attention. I can't stop thinking about what it might be or what it could mean. I like the theory of a hit and run gone bad, because it suggests SE may still be alive, or, I guess, that at least whatever's happened to her is less personal and lurid than some of the more feared outcomes. I also think it's plausible in terms of human behaviour. I mean, a driver who was over the limit with a lot to lose, say, might not hesitate to try and clean up the consequences of their actions imo, however ill-advisedly. But in terms of CCTV footage, not so plausible perhaps?

I mentioned upthread that people local to me had scrutinised hours' worth of CCTV in another missing persons case, and in the course of that someone mentioned that the CCTV cameras that turn to take in a variety of views are programmed to spin in response to noise nearby. I don't know if that's true - I just tried to google and found nothing so anyone who wants to know for sure needs to do their own research. But if so, you've got to assume a life-threatening impact in that location would have been noisy enough to trigger the camera on the junction of Poynders Road/Kings Avenue - assuming it's a moving camera of course.

Does any of this fit with anything anyone else knows? Do cameras respond to noise? Is that particular camera a moving one? Which way was it facing at the assumed time of any incident involving SE?

If its a flat she probably didn't want to go especially if he lived with friends and covid. JMO
Yes there are flat mates according to the newspaper article which in itself should take any focus off this person if they were all home together all evening

This is my opinion only: it looks like there is cctv facing the bins of the Estates that has been corned off (source: Google Maps Street View) The whole estate is managed by a property management company (we can read a notice they left on the bin storage) My assumption and MOO is that the agency was closed over the weekend and was only able to access and check the CCTV yesterday or today. They might have seen some suspicious activity and maybe a potential lead and sent the files to the police today. What do you all think?

Agree.
The CCTV on the Poynders Court building doesn't look to be able to cover a wide area due to it's positioning.
However, as we saw in the Libby Squire case, these camera's and indeed home CCTV camera's can be useful to capture vehicle lights, indicator lights, car unlocking lights, in the distance, So this could be relevant in this case, depending on the time 'flashes' could have been picked up.
Also these camera's tend to be infrared at night, so would show B&W images UNLESS the floodlight next to the camera was activated at the time any suspicious activity was seen, that would automatically flip the CCTV from infrared footage to 'daylight' like the TFL CCTV. This of course all depends on the quality of the system installed.

Also depending on the system, the operator can set the number of days they'd like the system to retain the footage before it's automatically deleted.

JMO but they needed to move quickly to examine any outdoors sites, as the London weather forecast for tomorrow is heavy rain and potential for strong winds

So
Correct. Focus is and has been outside the building.

Family of Sarah Everard distraught as police appeal for footage

9 Mar 2021

The family of missing marketing executive Sarah Everard today said they were getting increasingly distraught as police continued their search for clues nearly a week after she vanished.

Relatives were taking part in the hunt for the 33-year-old, who has not been seen or heard from since departing her friend’s house in Clapham at around 9pm last Wednesday. Ms Everard’s uncle Nick told the Standard: “The family are absolutely distraught today and it’s getting worse as the days go on, we still have no more information.
[..]

They are now focusing their attention further towards Brixton where she is believed to have been heading. Officers have been told of assaults on women in the area previously. In January, the Metropolitan Police was said to have had a report of sexual harassment on a young female on Hydethorpe Road, half a mile from where Ms Everard was last spotted on CCTV.

Ah, yes, rain forecast. That's a really good point.

And the phone call ended at 9:28 and he lives 2 minutes away from the point she was last seen at 9:30
A 2 minute drive not walk. Plus he has flat mates it said. Has the 9.28 time been official reported?

I absolutely think the area of activity is based on the telecoms data.

Without anything significant from eyewitnesses to something or images from the hours of trawling CCTV that they will now be doing, there would seem little else to direct their search activities at the present time.

I was referring to the article provided. Yes 2 minute drive they meant.

Interesting that her cousin said there's nothing 'sordid or dodgy' about her. He seems to be suggesting that her personal life wasn't complicated if that's the right word to use, as if she didn't use recreational drugs or have any difficult personal relationships. I know when loved ones go missing there's a tendency for close friends and family to speak about them in only positive terms, understandably so which is why I take it with a pinch of salt but everything I've heard so far in terms of her age, job, background etc makes me think that maybe it wasn't someone she knew who did this. As time goes on, I keep leaning towards the abduction theory despite the fact that earlier on, I'd tried to reason with myself by saying that it was more statistically likely someone known to her had hurt her in some way.
