A senior editor at LBC (which I hope is MSM) just tweeted this, that a man has been arrested at an address in Kent in connection with Sarah's disappearance. I'm very confused, Kent is so far away from Clapham.

A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Sarah Everard.

since two people were arrested (an officer and a woman) it could be that they were arrested at the residence of the woman, and that the officer resides in Clapham?

but was his name released?

Assistant commissioner was quoted, not the one arrested. OP has already edited their post.

This evening, officers arrested a man at an address in Kent in connection with the disappearance of Sarah Everard.

He has been taken into custody at a London police station where he remains.

The man is a serving Metropolitan Police officer.

A woman has also been arrested at the same location on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has also been taken into custody at a London police station.

The Directorate of Professional Standards is aware.

Sarah's family has been kept updated of these developments.

Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said: “This is a significant development in our inquiry. This is a fast moving investigation and we are doing everything we can to find Sarah.

"We have seen an overwhelming response from the public and I repeat my request for anyone with information that may be relevant to come forward, no matter how insignificant it may seem."

Assistant Commissioner Nick Ephgrave said: "The arrest this evening is a serious and significant development. We will continue to work with all speed on this investigation but the fact that the arrested man is a serving Metropolitan Police officer is both shocking and deeply disturbing.

"I understand there will be significant public concern but it is essential that the investigative team are given the time and space to continue their work."

We will not be issuing any further statement tonight.

This gives me more belief in what I wrote in a previous post, that the officer may have been arrested for attempting to conceal evidence or use his profession to help the actual perp rather than him being the perp himself. I don't want to point fingers at anyone but if JL's family live in Kent then it's beginning to add up.
i would have said this theory is insane, but not sure anything can shock me here any longer.

He's not in the Police if his LinkedIn is accurate?
no, he isn't but the theory is that his family are from kent and this officer may have helped conceal evidence or done something else, as far as I undertsand

Strangely on one of the cams for Clapham Common Northside there is a police car / van flashing away that night? Unbelievable really, it's like something out of Inspector Morse!

This is the worst of the worst if a PO is responsible. The decision to make an arrest of a PO must be next to concrete.

I have an old friend who is married to an older man who is/was a met police officer based at Brixton (as was she before they had children). They also live in Kent.. my friend actually looks very similar to Sarah and he had a thing for younger women (cheating on and then leaving his previous wife to be with said friend).
I don’t know if this is ok to post? I will delete if it’s not but I’m feeling very sick
think we are all feeling a bit sick, but this defo seems a bit too opinion based, but then again after what has come out on the last 20 mins anything is plausible :)
