At his hearing they said the autopsy was just completed but did not publicly release the results. They can add charges later if they have evidence of further crimes and they feel it would help in their prosecution.
In the Jayme Closs case the state did not charge the suspect with sexual assault out of respect for the victim as they already charged him with murder of her parents and kidnapping. It doesn’t mean it didn’t happen just that they did not think the charges were necessary when the guy was going away for life anyway.
Thank you for this, it answered my earlier question on more charges being added such as rape. In the UK life doesn’t always mean life in the same terms that it does in the US. Does anyone know of any similar instances in the UK?
