We do not have details of the booking with the rental company
I think that due to the seriousness of the case and the fact a serving police officer is accused, that the trial will be expedited and could take place later this year.
MOO
He was not at workHe was at work wasn’t he?
Going on the laws on in this country if she worked it was from home. I highly doubt she would of bumped into him that day. Even if she went for her daily exercise the odds of seeing him would be pretty remote as he worked in a different area than Brixton.
IMO
I've not seen it.Has there been mention of when and if the hire car was returned?
Edit of typo
I have to say I agree with you, and whilst I agree with the sentiment of the vigil/protest there is a time and a place and I don't think this was it.
I also dont think it should have been done in Sarah's name as he friends have quite clearly said she would not have wanted that and I think that should have been respected.
I wondered at first if it was his mobile phone in a (rather futile) attempt to damage it? One has to question how off guard he was taken if he can’t even hide a tiny SD card. Surely something so small could be easily hidden in a huge variety of places or flushed down the toilet.
I think Christopher Jeffries and other high profile suspects (later found to be innocent) were released on bail. I wouldn’t read more into it - she hasn’t been charged is the most significant thing I think.Thank you so much I wasn’t aware of this. I understand now also that she could have been bailed whilst the CPS makes a decision too. Do you think it’s right to assume it means a charge is still being considered? I guess what I mean is, if they are confident there wasn’t enough or any evidence presume they would have just released her with no instructions?
Perhaps she walked the same route to her friends house earlier in the day/evening.He was at work wasn’t he?

The Met needed to use some brains on this one. We saw last week a mass gathering of football supporters - treated with respect by the police. All reports are that it was a peaceful vigil until the police started moving people on. The optics on this are terrible, police force being used against women at a vigil for a woman murdered by someone in the police (allegedly).
Politicians, media, social media for all sides are condemning the police today.
Agree with this. There appears in my opinion to be people that are just angry or upset with everything currently and especially lockdown so can’t help but feel it was another excuse for them to be out under the pretence of the vigil for SE. Really sad compared to the beautiful scenes of the earlier vigil.my views is it was deliberately planned there were a number of groups there with an agenda imo , they knew it was illegal to be there , they were after the photos of them scuffling with the police, it looks so staged , the genuine people went and laid flowers, stood for a moment with candle and left , others were there looking for trouble and to show the police in a bad light imo , they knew full well it had been cancelled and it would be illegal to gather there as that is what had clearly been communicated to everyone.
I've wondered this too, was it returned, was it stored somewhere else like the garage or was it dumped and burned out?Has there been mention of when and if the hire car was returned?

Yes, very strange! With the police knocking at the door, and most likely surrounding the house, it's a bizarre move to throw something out the window, and seems more indicative to me of his disorganised, panicked state of mind at the time. Were the police in the house at this point?
If it was the SD card, why didn't he just swallow it or similar? Could it have been something else? We don't actually know that it was a phone or SD card..... Hard to think what else it could have been, maybe the weapon he had emailed work about, to prevent himself from doing anything stupid? Mind you, I can imagine if he'd had a weapon, given his likely state of mind and recent behaviour, he may well have tried to harm himself or others. All speculation until we know.
snipped by me for focustoo many people politising poor Sarah's death
How should the wife have known about his inclinations and past incidents? IMO it's perfectly plausible that he hid his nefarious activities from her and she had no idea why he was stressed. He could have given her other reasons or had a known mental health issue that wasn't picked up on at work. Reportedly he was on leave often. He boils my blood as he does this awful act and he has time to cover his tracks as he is off work for a week and he probably hides out at home.
This is where the wife surely comes in as if he is emailing work and he is freaking out how can she not know something is going on at home?
It feels like Ian Huntley & Maxine Carr where for some reason these women have suspicions but don’t make the right choices IMO
Just catching up with thread so this may have been raised already; WC worked 20 odd years in motor trade in Dover so could possibly have connections with rental companies and access to vehicles 'off the record' - cash payment, avoid credit card? Just a thought, speculative of course.Dover will definitely have several car rental agencies, unlike many other Kent towns, who may have one or two and be on reduced hours. Dover would be ideal place for car rental, possibly near 24 hour opening, especially with all the ferries and passengers to/from France. Plus, Dover is close to Deal where WC lives.
Do we know that he used his police credentials in the attack at all?snipped by me for focus
But Sarah's death, like the abuse/rape/murder of all women by men IS a political issue. Abuse of power. And it's particularly galling when it's at the hands of someone with more power than most.
