isn't an SD card really small? would that have been something that they would have noticed being thrown from a window?
Well, I think you'd notice someone at a window looking like they're throwing something out if it.

Perhaps she walked the same route to her friends house earlier in the day/evening.

Yep but wasn’t he stationed in Westminster so that’s not close to where she was walking as it’s about 30 mins away from Brixton. He was armed specialist so it doesn’t sound like he drove around in a car either daily.

Sarah unfortunately like so many other victims of crimes was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and the sick freak took the opportunity to snatch her. IMO

Swallow it, crush it, flush it, hide it under the carpet .. so many options. To throw it out of the window seems panicked and as you say, bizarre. But yes, it could absolutely point to his unhinged thinking. Just a blind panic to get rid of evidence.

In terms of a weapon, he would not be allowed to bring his gun home from work. So he’d have to hold a private firearms license. If he did so, he’d have to have a gun cabinet with the weapon/s securely looked away. With two young children in the house, he’d be stupid not to adhere to this. I can’t see it being a gun.

A mobile phone is possible IMO. In the hope it would smash. Again, pretty dumb and futile. But he might hope it would destroy traceable contents. That could be anything from GPS tracking to web history.
My theory is he was throwing a packed bag out the window so that he could abscond.

I agree the motion of someone throwing something is universal.

Do we know that he used his police credentials in the attack at all?
I do take your point and no we don't - but I don't think the police are meant to only care about protecting people or detecting/preventing crime when they're actually on duty or showing their police cards.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

There was no set end time. However, the silence and applause and some initial speaking/cheering was concluded by about 6:10. Then it was what I would call 'supportive' chanting for another 10 mins or so (sisters, united, will never be defeated)

But then it all changed. Many of those who had been present at 6pm had left, the chanting changed 'kill the pig', banners came out, and the crowd getting bigger and bigger.

I did not see violence in the crowd. I did see that paths near the bandstand and a fair amount of the grass between was utterly impassable because people were standing rammed in together.

That would be long trip, over to Dover then backtracking to Deal.

It's not that far 10/15 minutes with no traffic from his to the garage

Sorry if this has already been asked but I've just had a thought.. Does anyone know if the hire care was a 3 or 5 door? This may explain why front 2 doors were open.. JMO - correct me if anyone knows the facts!

Just catching up with thread so this may have been raised already; WC worked 20 odd years in motor trade in Dover so could possibly have connections with rental companies and access to vehicles 'off the record' - cash payment, avoid credit card? Just a thought, speculative of course.

Only really shonky ones. No matter how good a mate he is, with big companies (like Hertz, Avis etc) there is no way that a car would be allowed off the premises without proper checks. Not least because they are not staffed by only one person at the car collection point, so you'd be talking about several accomplices JMO

Has everyone forgotten that it was shown the mass BLM protests in summer did not lead to a spike in covid cases? In reality if everyone wears masks and socially distances there shouldn’t be a problem. The police are using these covid rules because they don’t want people protesting full stop. The decision to police it the way they did was wrong IMO. Regardless of your thoughts on gatherings I would have thought it quite obvious (especially to the police) that despite an official vigil and protest being called off, people would still gather so it would have made the most sense to try and help the organisers coordinate the event safely. JMO. I don’t think anyone who went should be labelled “radical” for wanting to express their grief or anger at the failure of the police and government to protect Sarah and their ongoing failures to protect women from sexual harassment and abuse (for example the flashing incident not being investigated properly/quickly enough because the crime isn’t seen as serious).

This isn’t the thread for this but looking at images from last night people were clearly not socially distancing. The events were called off up and down the country because now is not the time.

I am all for protests and things changing but I want this country to have freedom again come the 21st June. So events like these serve no purpose at the moment and when you do break the rules then last night happens which takes away the focus from Sarah.

Sarah is the victim here and yet today it’s all about The Met police and a few idiots who have a agenda taking up tabloid pages. What happened in the afternoon was starkly different than last night thankfully and was completely Respectful.

snipped by me for focus
But Sarah's death, like the abuse/rape/murder of all women by men IS a political issue. Abuse of power. And it's particularly galling when it's at the hands of someone with more power than most.
This is very true. However plenty more women are victims of domestic violence every day in their own homes (as are men also). I have no facts to back this up but I’m going to take a wild guess that there are actually probably more people in positions of power (such as LE) being domestically violent everyday. I’m a victim of domestic violence to somebody senior in a public service. Behind a closed door, not on the street. It shouldn’t take a very public case for us to want to stop violence towards well...anyone. It also shouldn’t in my opinion take us to break pandemic rules (essentially law) in our anger at other rights not being looked after or championed.

I think we should be more concerned with respect for SE family right now. We can all in some way relate to an anger at violence or misappropriation being aimed at us. There are things to improve upon and at some point campaign for. The case has struck a chord with pretty much everyone. Largely because it seems it could have happened to anyone. But it didn’t and there is one family grieving right now and who need our efforts and thoughts if focused anywhere, on them. JMHO

I didn't mean it like that - I meant are people saying the white astra COULD be the hire car because they saw one on CCTV or are there any links or sources that confirm it?

At around 9.35pm, a bus camera captured two figures on Poynders Road and a white Vauxhall Astra with its hazard lights flashing.

Another bus camera captured the same car with both front doors open. The registration of the vehicle – later confirmed to be a car hired in Dover – was captured and tracked by police as it left London towards Kent.

Sarah Everard's body found inside builder's bag

I get it. Presumably they are all "good apples". In reality, there are exceptions in every group and I hope they are rare. The question is, could he have been stopped earlier?

I think it’s a really interesting point that this case got so much attention and it might have caught him by surprise. So many people go missing every day, there are so many unsolved (unknown) murders, so many sexual assaults that aren’t solved etc. It took a couple of days before Sarah’s case got significant media traction (well done to her family and friends for that) and interesting that when it did, he seemed to spiral. To me it points to him having done things before with absolutely no media attention and no links back to him. He was complacent IMO and only started panicking after the case got so much attention.

Really agree. I’m sure sadly more to come IMO

Does anyone have a timeline of what happened?
What exactly happened? Can anyone tell me

Repeating comment as it seems to be getting lost amidst people arguing..

We don’t, it was speculation in MSM.

Also, IMO most minds will wonder to that as a way of him making her trust him.

No. We had no details at all about the hire car until his court appearance, and then it stated White Astra, front doors open. Nothing further.

Also why does it say 'her remains were found'? What does it mean? Was she buried? Was she burnt/dismembered? How was she killed?
