Can we not talk about the vigil/protest? It’s a completely separate issue now. Her vigil was held and then things progressed. The back and forth is exactly what the mods had asked us NOT to do.

The point of this forum Is discussing the case and evaluating the evidence, is it not?

@Loobyloo2 found info on his addresses going back a while.. not sure which thread it is in now though. From 2002 he has lived in Kent is what I recall. Can find it all on electoral roll. Hope this helps
He was born in Deal and has his birth mum and dad, a step Mother and one brother as far as I can tell. Places Couzens has previously lived includes a top floor flat in Folkestone and his current house in Deal which you can look to see when it was purchased if you can sleuth the address. I believe he may have lived in Dover as well but unconfirmed as being the same Wayne Couzens.

Also why does it say 'her remains were found'? What does it mean? Was she buried? Was she burnt/dismembered? How was she killed?

Unlikely to know much of this until trial.

No. We had no details at all about the hire car until his court appearance, and then it stated White Astra, front doors open. Nothing further.

Did Websleuthers post the car from the TfL a website in a earlier thread when they was tracking her route?

Its strange how he managed to pull up where there was no cameras. Thank God a bus went past at that time to capture him.

This might be a very stupid question from a non British person. I get that Dover reasonably close to all the locations but would there be any significant in that as a rental location, are some of the companies operating here less "high tech" or security conscious

Sorry if this has been addressed already, I’m just catching up on the thread. I wondered if the car rental venue had a connection to him from his days as a mechanic. Could be possible that they had an agreement with his fathers business that they maintained their cars. Just a thought. MOO

Well, I think you'd notice someone at a window looking like they're throwing something out if it.

more likely drop he wouldnt need to throw something that small would he , plus be very hard to find that i would have thought? all very strange..

Posters did look at several cameras and cars, there is no way of knowing if the car in question was in these clips or not.

New member here, I have read all of the posts across the threads and the rules, so hopefully this doesn't break any!

All just my own opinion, and with the caveat that he is accused and not convicted etc.

Although there seems to be confusion around his work pattern, thankfully due to where he works they will know the exact time he started and finished. There are also exemptions to the working time directive for emergency services and armed forces, but only in certain situations- so it's impossible to really know, but again, they will have the info they need re: when he was at work which is the important thing. I don't think he would have much insight into investigations and procedures through his job though, JMO but the areas of the police he has allegedly worked in would not give him insight beyond what anyone else could research and find out. Although in hindsight it's terrible that the alleged IE wasn't acted upon, and highlights a bigger issue overall in how they are dealt with; afaik there's no proof or statement that details they knew it was him and hadn't acted. I wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't even properly crossed anyone's desk yet, or it was waiting to be reviewed. If it turns out they did know it was him and did nothing, that's a different matter, time will tell. Of course with hindsight it's tragic as there are so many what ifs (although also speculative of course, as it's assumed if he was suspended from work he wouldn't have done it, but who knows).

The additional info of the Astra along with the charge of kidnap and the short time frame between the police cam and the bus cam imo suggests heartbreakingly wrong place wrong time rather than anything else, but that's JMO. As the phone was off so quickly and it seems none of the residents etc were disturbed (as far as we know anyway, it's possible more has been recorded than released to the public), and the fact that another bus didn't catch anything further when they are timetabled to be every few mins, it seems likely that it was quick and quiet. Just my thoughts, but if he asked to borrow her phone for whatever reason (perhaps it was still visible following the phone call), he could have switched it off straight away and then perhaps took it back to the car where she asked for it back? Given the area and that it can be busy, my opinion is that it's likely most of the restraining happened inside the car.

Beyond that no idea, the extent of the searches and locating and identifying quite quickly alludes to there being more they know than has been released, and I don't think anything I think around it will add anything to the thread. Although I do think emailing a boss when in that type of role isn't the best way to make contact as they won't be sat at computers, and it could be a while between shifts. But it does leave a trail I suppose, for what reasons I won't speculate and it's been discussed a fair bit already.

It is so heartbreaking, and thoughts with her friends and family, and everyone affected by this case.

Long time reader, first time poster. Please be gentle.

I am confused about the timeline of WC whereabouts and activity. I am basing this off the WS timeline that I hope I've linked correctly below.

This states he worked a 12 hour shift starting at 7pm on 2nd March and finishing at 7am on 3rd March. He then supposedly went on leave and was not due to return until 8th March. However it's also widely reported that he worked another shift from on 3rd March from 2-8pm. Which was his last shift?

If he was on pre-scheduled leave from 3rd-8th March, why would he report that he was suffering from stress on 5th March when he's not due back at work for another 3 days. Similarly with the firearms email. It doesn't look like he wanted to be caught given the lengths to conceal the body, so I struggle to understand why he'd draw attention to himself unnecessarily.

isn't an SD card really small? would that have been something that they would have noticed being thrown from a window?

An SD card is pretty small, my guess is that they found it inside what ever device it was used in rather than on its own

IMO the throwing something out of the window assuming correct is more likely to be in panic as he was maybe using the device at the time and simply acted on impulse to get it out of the way

Thread is closed for the night. It may or may not reopen tomorrow.

This thread is dedicated to discussion of Sarah's case, not bickering over the vigil, protests, politics, domestic violence, Covid, or general world-wide social justice issues (which will never be resolved via discussion at Websleuths).

Re. 3 Door or 5 Door Vauxhaul Astra

Taken a little look at the car rental places in Dover to see whether any are any offering 3 door Vauxhall Astra's. Can't find any that list it as an option. Mostly their "compact" models tend to be Vauxhall Corsas or Fiats. Seems to suggest it's more likely to be a 5 door but of course not definitive. (Before this I did like @Parmalade 3 door speculation as it seemed a good possible explanation for both front doors being open)

Interestingly when I went to do a search on "Yellohire.com" the location of 'Ashford (Kent)' came up automatically in Vehicle Pick-Up/Drop-Off location. Perhaps it's just caused by lots of people like me doing the same thing...

If it was this place he used. The hire car could have been picked up from Dover and dropped of at the Ashford branch. The 'Yellohire' company is also significantly cheaper than the other more well known Enterprise/Europcar/Hertz.

Other than 'Yellohire' it looks like 'Enterprise' is the only other company that has a branch in both Ashford and Dover.

Cheap Car Rental & Nationwide Car Hire only at Yellohire

All speculation and MOO

I absolutely do not want to get this thread closed with my first post!! But there is local news of an interesting development 3 minutes from WC home related to police investigations. It’s posted about on an official government council Facebook page. Mods @CocoChanel is this okay to share a link to / screenshot of here?

Ah @Rovers88 beat me to it! It’s already in the press I see. So I’m hoping this is therefore okay to share.

Please delete if it isn’t!

This is quite shocking! I know some of us suspected there may be more victims but the fact they have openly stated it’s related to her investigation and they have her remains, does that mean they have found someone else?

Edit to add: maybe her phone?
