It seems a very quick response with a lot of resources ...and quite an area cordoned off for an item in a bin ...
I thought this too...... maybe the public have found something or ec is disposing of items in the bin and public have noticed her? JMO

I was talking to my SO about this case, he works in LE albeit in a more rural part of the country. His opinion is that WC totally ‘got off’ on the previous IE event. When he finished his shift set on the morning of 3rd March (Police will normally do 6 days on then 4 off or something similar), returned home, told EC he was going to cover another night shift, hired a car and went back into London to continue with his IE and it went terribly wrong. He thinks that WC IE’d himself to Sarah, she had her phone to hand and took a photo and it escalated from there with the phone being quickly destroyed and SE rendered unconscious and kidnapped. This is all 100% opinion and speculation.

I think something along these lines is probably one of the most likely things for what happened.

He didn’t exactly have time to pick out his victim did he?

He was working in Battersea that day so that means the car came from behind her it would seem so he would of at most seen her in his rear view mirror.

Just a sick freak who saw a valuable young women alone and unfortunately took that opportunity to grab her.

IMO

These were my thoughts on it....

Re. 3 Door or 5 Door Vauxhaul Astra/Hire Car

Taken a little look at the car rental places in Dover to see whether any are any offering 3 door Vauxhall Astra's. Can't find any that list it as an option. Mostly their "compact" models tend to be Vauxhall Corsas or Fiats. Seems to suggest it's more likely to be a 5 door but of course not definitive. (Before this I did like @Parmalade 3 door speculation as it seemed a good possible explanation for both front doors being open)

Interestingly when I went to do a search on "Yellohire.com" the location of 'Ashford (Kent)' came up automatically in Vehicle Pick-Up/Drop-Off location. Perhaps it's just caused by lots of people like me doing the same thing...

If it was this place he used. The hire car could have been picked up from Dover and dropped of at the Ashford branch. The 'Yellohire' company is also significantly cheaper than the other more well known Enterprise/Europcar/Hertz.

Other than 'Yellohire' it looks like 'Enterprise' is the only other company that has a branch in both Ashford and Dover.

Cheap Car Rental & Nationwide Car Hire only at Yellohire

All speculation and MOO

One thing just occurred to me. Why would he hire a car locally, where he's known, if he planned to commit a crime in it. Unless he just didn't expect the car to be known about (or the crime). JMO

Sarah Everard police seal off new wooded area in Sandwich, Kent

Officers have been seen combing along the pathway next to a stream, and have set up a base in the town centre.

The path, called Rope Walk, goes through a wooded area that backs on houses on one side.

Scotland Yard would not comment on the new area of investigation, but the local council confirmed that the pathway had been taped off.

Thanks ElizaKate. I'm working on an update tonight, I've collated several more facts to add in. I'll post the link to the update in this thread.
Big thanks @Tortoise for the timeline!
Is there any way to recruit somebody good with maps to layout and/or illustrate the Poynsder Rd / Clarence Avenue street view for visualizing -- driving google car where SE walked and where the cameras may have captured SE and the white Astra?

JMO Less chance of being on camera / CCTV though?

Or he’s sick enough to think he’d seduce someone this way with it being 1:1?

It makes me wonder though, why didn’t she jump out the car? It must have stopped at more than one traffic light coming out of London and as far as I am aware you can’t child lock the front seats - I’ve googled, can’t find an official source that says this but most come up saying you can’t - any car people know for def if you can child lock the front seat?

it makes me wonder about a weapon, there was a case in the US, Kelsey Smith where she was abducted in her own car and drove 20 miles before being killed but he used a gun.. but again, cars have to stop at traffic lights so why not use this time to get out?? Frozen in fear maybe? But wouldn’t survival instinct kick in?

edit - or knocked unconscious?

I would assume he had knocked Sarah unconscious at first as it was a long drive back to Kent and it would have been too risky to have her fighting back. I also hope this for her sake so she didn't know what was happening. JMO

This theory is often suggested...but does he think WC could have stopped his car leaving his door open as he did, walk around, flash her, her take a photo and them have a scuffle and him get her into the car...all on that road without anyone seeing?

The theory of him stopping, flashing his warrant card (maybe mentioning lockdown rules/attacker in the area), her drop her guard for a moment (rather than run/scream/move away) and long enough for him to bundle her into the car - or just snatching her - still seems more likely IMO, especially as I assume his training would cover getting people in a car quickly although he ended up guarding buildings.

I hope I’m allowed to write this, but I really hope Sarah didn’t suffer too much and I hope she wasn’t feeling utterly terrified just before she died. I can’t bear to think about it. It’s making me so upset. We are very similar in age and looks, I feel so shaken up by it all.
I hope this helps as I have thought the same snd it’s overwhelming. Try taking deep even breaths to a count in and out and telling yourself that she lives on in light now to shift your mind/energy/ vibration on I honestly hope that helps.
And yes when I am not being a commercial lawyer, I am a part time yoga teacher (lol). Sending love and light to you.

I’ve been thinking the same. It is a long way to drive with a kidnapped woman in the car. The streets were well lit, he would have had to stop at traffic lights and you’d expect her to try to attract attention or try to escape if not restrained or immobilised in some way. IMO.

she was wearing a mask so he clearly did not know what she looked like before he decided to kidnap her. so no preference for looks, just opputunistic
It seems unlikely she would walk with a mask on but is thought to have a hat on.

probably found a quiet safe place to stop to restrain her

if it was planned he would have cable ties/rope/tape.....if not planned he may have had handcuffs or could use the seat belts, jump leads or similar

Just thinking about stages of rigormortis and a body being placed inside a builders bag.

IMO It wouldn't be easy to place an intact body inside a builders bag once it had reached the rigor mortis stage, typically 6-8 hours after death. The bag is just not big enough.

After that rigor mortis disappears in 36 hours after death, followed by a phase of secondary flaccidity.

I don't quite know where I'm going with this. but to place an intact body in a bag that size would need to be done up to 6-8 hours after death, or after 36 hours after death.

Where did the bag come from, where was the body stored, if it's the latter.

JMO
Tedtink, you're thinking SE's body was in one piece....and it's a horrifying thought, but it might not have been.
