Could well be correct. Recovering Sarah is the prime consideration for police. This Alison happened in the Chris Halliwell/Sian Matthews case in Swindon - they identified him quite early on and put him under surveillance in the hope they would lead them to Sian.
This makes me think the 'greying' of the Brixton Hill/Lambert Road CCTV between 21:30 and 23:45 on the 4th March is far more than just circumstantial. Makes me think that the Met have found significant POIs or indeed a vehicle or several that could be to do with SE in regards to dumping evidence. Someone mentioned it earlier about Libby Squires but they will have already narrowed down on CCTV elements that they want to keep from the public for now

EDIT: What also strikes me as odd is that the angle for the Brixton Hill camera has completely changed when it is back available at 23:45 on the 4th- it remained firmly on the junction for large parts of the day, yet from when it is 'greyed' it *could* be focusing on a POI instead of just the junction

Are the police going to release the last sighting CCTV footage of Sarah? Maybe it’s too indistinct but in their position I would err on pushing as much “content” new images as possible in the hope of escalating public attention.

If it's door bell footage it could be just her feet that's been caught or something. I'm guessing like you say that's why it's not been released

I think the police have alot more information regarding Sarah's movements that evening. I followed libbys squires case very closely and the police had alot of cctv that wasn't mentioned or released to the public until it went to trial. I also believe they were watching the perp before arresting him hoping he would lead them to libby. Fingers crossed alot more is going on behind the scenes.

I agree with this 100% - I think they probably have the perp on camera and are piecing together everything before making further statements/arrests etc - well that’s what I hope anyway - I also hope Sarah is unharmed but the longer this goes on the more concerning it is :(

First time commentator on here but this case is really chilling and I’ve been unable to stop thinking about it.

I do find it odd that the official police line is that there is no evidence that anything untoward has happened - and yet the resources being thrown at this, the escalation to the specialist team etc surely suggest otherwise?

Is there any reason this line of thinking would continue to be pushed publicly?

It does seem a bit contradictory on the face of it, but on the other hand, police only give out pieces of information on what they’re working on in so far as they need assistance or more info from the public. They’re not going to give updates or explainers unless they think it will be of direct help in their work.

I defo agree with a lot of other posters that police clearly have a lot to work with in this case.

So I guess the the fact that she’s not caught on CCTV at kings road doesn’t mean she didn’t make it that far, looks like it captures only one side of the road, I wonder what side she was on then the doorbell camera picked her up?

There seemed to be several pedestrians on that stretch from around 9.30. Surely someone would have remembered seeing her if she had been there, on either side of road?

And if this is the case it’s in their interest to push the public narrative of no progress being made so as not to alarm the perp.

I guess once all locations are searched then the search itself will soon be scaled back. Lots of resources being used here with nothing much to go on (that we know of...police may think different,i'm aware of that)

there doesn't appear to be evidence of foul play.

Detectives hunting for a missing marketing executive were expanding their search today as investigators admitted that she appeared to have “disappeared into thin air”.

Ms Everard, 33, was believed to be heading to her Brixton flat after leaving Leathwaite Road at around 9pm, with the video showing her in Poynders Road. Investigators believe she took the busy A-road because it would have been believed to be safer than quieter back routes.

Police have searched Clapham Common where they believe she walked through but were today concentrating the hunt further towards Brixton and around Tulse Hill, with officers carrying out house-to-house inquiries.

Police widen search for woman who ‘vanished into thin air’

Edited by me for focus.

I think it is quite likely that Sarah misjudged her safety level, but my view is that most people are doing this every time they venture out.

The "default setting" for pedestrians where I live seems to be "earphones in, eyes down". Walking towards someone, and they towards me, I regularly come within a foot or two of that person before they realise I am there, even in broad daylight. Approach this same person from behind, and their situational awareness is zero. All of which fills me with a sense of dread in Sarah's case.

To be clear, we have absolutely no idea if Sarah was "earphones in, eyes down". And everyone, man or woman, should have the right to not be attacked as they walk down the street.

Thoughtful observations, Norm

They will look for 'signs of life' in that case. Contact with friends/family, accessing social media, withdrawing money from ATMs etc. A lack of these in the next few weeks will point to foul play regardless of any other evidence. They haven't stated she was 'vulnerable' so I'm guessing they don't suspect suicide at this point either

London Traffic Cameras - Live TfL JamCam Feeds

This is live feeds . not sure about others.

I wonder how the cameras work, if you click a live one and watch it seems to just replay a few seconds over and over then the archive shows stills every 5 mins.. I guess the Traffic guys and Police have more fluid access, it probably would be against privacy laws for members of the public to have access to fully live CCTV.. not sure?

Yeah you would expect someone to have seen her, they maybe have and have reported it like ‘yeah I passed someone, was a girl, can’t remember much else’ and the police can’t quite confirm it as she’s out of shot of CCTV and don’t want to report it as fact, so the last sighting they can definitely account for is further down the road?

people do just walk out on their lives....it happens

also, i don't think you need to be classed as 'vulnerable' to end your lifer even to consider suicide.....many people leave their families guessing

but then i think all of us are vulnerable right now navigating this pandemic

some people are private....you can't say no sign of life means foul playlist not true

For various reasons I feel this neighbourhood (and surrounding) holds a sizeable number of people unwell enough to commit the random attack. Or to become the prowler. The Met should be looking very closely at its VISOR list of anyone living within a couple mile radius, and shouldn’t be squeamish in investigating leads that otherwise might not feel politically correct. Severe mental illness in the area has to be considered. I speak as a bipolar person so please don’t think I’m targeting the severely mentally unwell.
