UK UK - Sarah Wellgreen, 46, Kent, 9 Oct 2018 #2 *B. Lacomba guilty*

I have seen a report somewhere that there were 2 other shovels found in the shed. If this is the case, then the theory that he only had a shovel to dig a grave becomes untrue. I have also seen that his last job of the day on the day of the murder was to Sevenoaks, kinda in the same direction that he drove to dispose of her body. Could he have spotted an opportunity to dispose of her on the way back? It maybe a bit bonkers, but I'm thinking maybe a large concrete project; if he knew the concrete would be poured first thing in the morning, maybe it was too tempting for him to resist.

Hi all.

I don't know how active this thread is anymore, but the fact that SW is still missing is a mystery that has been on my mind for the last few days after watching a documentary.

I made me wonder about the distance that BL would be able to travel from in the 2 hours that the cars whereabouts is unaccounted for. Also, how would an offender spend that time? Would you rather spend the time putting distance between the crime scene and the deposition site (longer travel time, but less time concealing the body) or would you travel a shorter distance thus having more time to dispose of a body and less chance of it being discovered.

I mapped out the coverage of:

A 30 min drive time (1 hour "burial")
A 45 min drive time (30 min "Hide a body")
A 55 min drive time ("0ump a body")

At which point, I realised the huge area that this covers. But bearing in mind that I think he would have avoided main arterial roads due to ANPR. Has anyone requested a FOI request for ANPR camera locations in kent in 2019? This may help to narrow down routes.

I have attached the map if anyone is interested in having a look.

I think Sarah is in Kent somewhere. As a taxi driver he would know so many short cuts. I can drive from my town and in a few minutes be on a road that is hardly ever used by traffic, surrounded by fields.

I just hope that he stays behind bars. I think the law has changed now and convicted murderers must reveal where they have placed their victims if they want to be considered for parole.

Kent is still a huge area... :)

I have sent an FOI request (attached) to Kent Police.
I'm working on something with AI to narrow down the search, but agreed, BL would know a lot of back roads to stay off main arterial routes anyway. But knowing where he HASN'T been, helps to know where he has been.

Police forces are sometimes reluctant to disclose where ANPR cameras are (even historical request, because they're probably still there...) they cite "Interests of National Security", but it is worth a shot.

You're right, parole should never have been an option if you do not divulge where the body is. (It's still denying your involvement to a point where your are not taking responsibility for the crime).

Hi again everyone,

I've been going over the details of the Sarah Wellgreen case with the assistance of AI, and I think there's a strong possibility she may be located at or near a 200-acre airsoft site called Battle Lakes in Bells Yew Green, near Tunbridge Wells.

Here’s why it seems to fit:

  • The Location: The site is a perfect place to hide something. It’s a massive, private, and dense woodland with sixteen lakes and lots of pre-built bunkers and ditches for the airsoft games. It also has a network of 4x4 tracks, which would have allowed someone to drive deep into the woods and stay hidden.

  • The Timeline: The location fits the two-hour window where Ben Lacomba's car was unaccounted for on the night Sarah disappeared. A round trip from his home to Battle Lakes using quiet back roads would take about 80-90 minutes, leaving plenty of time to be on the site itself.

  • The Muddy Car: A key piece of evidence was that Lacomba’s car was clean when he left but muddy on his return. Driving on the unpaved, muddy 4x4 tracks at Battle Lakes to get away from the main road would explain this perfectly.

  • The Personal Connection: This is the most crucial link. Lacomba had a specific interest in airsoft. He followed a very popular YouTuber called "kickingmustang" on SoundCloud who specialized in sniper gameplay.

  • One year before the murder, this YouTuber posted detailed, first-person videos filmed at Battle Lakes. Lacomba could have watched these videos and essentially scouted the location virtually. It wouldn't have been a random patch of woods to him; it would be a location he was already familiar with and knew was secluded enough for his purposes.

It just seems to connect all the dots: the right direction of travel, the right amount of time, a reason for the muddy car, and a logical explanation for why he would choose that specific spot over any other woodland in Kent.

I have sent an email to Kent Police with this information. (Attached as PDF). If anyone wants to discuss further, hmu.

Hi Danny, thanks for your input. This case keeps me awake at night, I used to live just a few doors down from where Sarah was murdered (before she was there; I never met her), so I'm always thinking of the routes Ben could've taken because I'm familiar with the area.

I have re-plotted the route to Battle Lakes via the roads I think he would've taken. Judging by the route he took to the A20, he definitely would be sticking to quiet country lanes, and this would put his journey time to exactly 1 hour.

Let us know if you get a response from the FOI; this would be super useful to eliminate routes.

Hi Peewee, Thanks for this. It has been bugging me also (obviously).

I'm in Brighton, so the area is unfamiliar to me. What if the start point is Holland's Farm? (TN15 7PB)?
I set the "2 hour" clock from CCTV capture at Holland's Farm at 02:20am until it's recapture at Littlefields at 04:20am.

He could in fairness take more of a detour to a deposition site, but a direct route back (still avoiding ANPR). If he has nothing in the car, he would not be as anxious to be pulled over. Being a taxi driver, he would be comfortable to be out at night, (A liveried taxi is a common site in the early hours of the morning, something the police would not find suspicious).

Even best case scenario will only give him around 1/2 hour to conceal the body; this doesn't seem likely, even if there was a pre-dug grave. I was closely looking at Camp Wildfire on a similar premise; a connection via his nerf-gun club. I think I found evidence that he had actually been there a few times, it's only a short drive from New Ash Green & also in the direction of travel that night. This would probably give him around an hour to dispose of the body, but (again) even with a pre-dug grave time would be tight.

As predicted, Kent Police refuse to list the locations of ANPR cameras in 2018.

Oh well, it was worth a shot.
