Just caught up from Weds Eve. Thanks all for updates, maps, msm etc.

Re cctc at 22 Bazes off and on. Im guessing BL will say it was due to unplugging/plugging in his phone charger into same/next mains socket that cctv was, as this was stated before iirc. Hence why on several nights.

Timeline of events during day of Sarah Wellgreen's disappearance
Thousands of hours of CCTV footage has been analysed by police (Image: Jim Bennett)

The jury is being shown CCTV footage of the last day Sarah Wellgreen was seen on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Here is a timeline of events on what was seen on camera that day.
  • 8.58am: Sarah Wellgreen walks down the path and enters car park 1. She goes straight to her blue 4x4 which she used to carry out business as a beautician. Sarah gets in her car and reverses out.
  • 9.01am: Lacomba’s red Vauxhall Zafira returns to car park 1 and parks at the side of 22 Bazes Shaw. He enters the house and his head is visible as he walks along past the side wall.
  • 9.12am: Lacomba leaves the house, gets back in his car and drives off. (While this footage is played to jurors, it’s explained that officers analysed the condition of Lacomba’s vehicle, in particular the top of the front wheel arch).
  • 11.33am: Sarah Wellgreen comes back to the same spot in car park 1. Her head is also visible above the side of the wall.
  • 2.57pm: Sarah leaves Bazes Shaw.
  • 2.28pm: Lacomba’s vehicle is spotted by ANPR in East Hill, Dartford.
  • 4.28pm: Lacomba seen driving again and captured on ANPR in Horley Road in Dartford.
  • 5.08pm: Lacomba returns and parks in car park 2. Jurors are shown rear camera footage from 23 Bazes Shaw of Lacomba passing the lowered gate and fence at the rear of 23 Bazes Shaw. (It’s explained that anything above 147cm will be spotted in gap between wooden part of trellis). Marilyn Lacomba - Ben’s mum - had already brought the children back to the house.
  • 7.57pm: Sarah returns home after work to Ben Lacomba and her children. There was no sign of movement towards 22 Bazes Shaw between these times apart from Marilyn leaving the property. Sarah Wellgreen gets out of her car, gets a bike out of the boot and enters her home.
A couple of residents are seen going to their cars in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday, October 10 - described as “early risers” by Alison Morgan QC - but there is no sign of Sarah and no sign of anyone that can’t be accounted for.

There's a couple of updates from Friday, must have been posted over the weekend:
_______________

Police officers recreate CCTV footage by driving Lacomba's taxi down same road

CCTV footage from Plaxdale Green Road allegedly shows a taxi driven by Ben Lacomba (right) (Image: Kent Police/Jim Bennett)
Jurors at Woolwich Crown Court were shown images and footage yesterday (October 4) of the police reconstruction for CCTV comparison.

Forensic imagery analysts had previously compared the CCTV footage showing a vehicle travelling to and from Bazes Shaw to the Stansted area with images from the reconstruction.

This had been carried out by two Kent Police officers driving at varying speeds and in similar conditions between 1.45am and 4am on February 28 this year.

Detective Constable James Greenidge told the court that during the two-and-a-quarter hours they were carrying out the reconstruction in Lacomba’s vehicle, they only saw one other vehicle - a milk delivery van - on the roads.

Forensic video analyst Clive Evans gives evidence

Like Danny Wheeler on day three, Clive Evans - who analysed the footage from Littlefields, the police reconstruction and peer reviewed footage from Longview - gave evidence at Woolwich Crown Court on day four yesterday (October 4).

The court was told during expert evidence that Lacomba’s taxi was ‘similar’ to that caught on camera on the night of Sarah’s alleged murder and disappearance.

Lead imagery investigator Mr Evans told the court that the footage of the vehicle caught on CCTV heading out in the early hours of October 10 ‘lent support’ to the contention it was the same make and model as Lacomba’s Zafira.

It shared several characteristics including size, shape and type, as well as spoked wheels and a ‘lighter tone’ on the front doors of the same size, position and location as the taxi firm lettering.

He added that the police reconstruction also backed up that conclusion.

However, Mr Evans agreed during cross-examination that there were no ‘unique’ vehicle features in any of the footage which would enable him to say it was ‘the same’ car.

Further CCTV evidence

The court is now hearing from Emiliano Polito. He is a CCTV evidence officer with Essex Police and is a qualified imagery analyst.

Jurors are now seeing exhibit NM1 is the CCTV unit - digital video recorder - which was present at 22 Bazes Shaw and is present in court. It links to the two cameras at the front of 22 Bazes Shaw and six at the side of the house

The mains plugs for the DVR and cameras were attached to an extension cable which then was plugged into a single plug on the wall

To be used, the DVR must be attached to a screen, the court heard

An alarm rang on the system when it first turned on which said “No HDD recording”

“The correct way of shutting down the system is to access the shut down menu.”

'A light event'

A camera from 23 Bazes Shaw captures a “light event” in the window of 32 Bazes Shaw

“I believe that is an illumination being reflected on an area of the window or the wall.” Polito told the court.

“I can’t conclusively say that is the source of the illumination.”

The prosecution allege it is Lacomba’s taxi locking at 4.31am and then at 4.57am - Polito describes them as “a similar type of illumination”

He rules out that it was the porch light or a light from 32 Bazes Shaw and confirms it was a reflection of an external light

I read in one of the linked articles the police said that when they did the reconstruction, they did not see a single car on the road during the journey out and back...the only vehicle they passed was a milk float

13:07 Key Event

40 minute 999 call by Ben Lacomba

In the call Lacomba gives a series of details to the operator about Sarah.

“Tuesday night she came home and then we all went to bed and then when me and the kids woke up in the morning she wasn’t there. But her car’s still outside.”

“I texted her yesterday morning to see if she was alright and stuff but I haven’t had a reply”

“I’ve looked through a phone, like one of them didn’t have a lock on it, to see what was going on sort of thing. And one of them didn’t have a lock on it and I’ve looked through that and I’ve found out that she’s sort of like seeing a few blokes sort of thing. And so it looks like she’s cheating on him sort of thing.”

“I texted her like yesterday but I didn’t (call her) because I saw the phones there I thought there’s no point me phoning her cause all her phones are here.”

'Slapped and scratched'

Jurors have heard the following:

When asked about whether there was “any reason that you know of that she might go missing at all”, Lacomba said: “I find out about like her sort of seeing quite a few blokes sort of thing” and adds that “she was assaulted at the weekend.”

On Saturday (October 6) he claims she was “slapped and scratched” by an employee at her work, which was Puresun in Portsmouth.

Then the employee’s boyfriend came in and “pinned her up against the wall”. Lacomba claims Sarah reported this to the police.

He also claims Neil James “doesn’t trust” Sarah.

Thanks Alyce.

What are you having? A nice Ham Salad for me.

.....it all sounds a bit hectic doesnt it. Makes me feel uneasy and claustrophobic, all the texts, whatsapp, email, FB, calls etc. There mustve been some concern for her safety I think , before the events took place?
Why be so intensly concerned, NJ, Joe Eleini, Mother etc..after such a short period of non communication?
Even if its out of character to be out of touch for 8-10 hours or so, it still seems intense, unless concerns were prevalent??

999 call read out to court

Lacomba proceeds to give the details of Miss Wellgreen’s boyfriend Neil James who had texted Lacomba at 8.14pm the night before, telling the taxi driver: “We’re all worried and so if you could let us know if you’ve seen her or me and her mum are going to have to start a police search as it’s been 24 hours”.

He did not reply to this message. Later on in the call, he goes on to claim Neil James, “doesn’t trust” Miss Wellgreen and is “really paranoid about her”.

The taxi driver also claimed Mr James had put a “tracker” on the 46-year-old’s phone and described one of Mr James’ exes as “stalking” Miss Wellgreen whenever she stayed at his home in Farnham, Surrey.

He added that he also reported his own “stalker” Nikki Docherty, who he described as a “one night thing” from February 2017, to the police but then Miss Wellgreen became friends with her through Facebook. The taxi driver described this as “a bit concerning”

Tea and toast ( missed breakfast :) )

It does sound very frantic. NJ has been described in court as an on / off boyfriend - so the late evening call followed by an early morning call is a bit uncomfortable to me. SW had a busy work load by the sound of it and no doubt did the school run some days ( I think BL did other days ) so this high level of concern, just because SW did not reply instantly, seems a bit over heavy/controlling to me. Unless, as you say, there was already some concern for her safety.

I find his 5.05pm text particularly disturbing - Are you alive ?

Lacomba's 999 call - continued

Lacomba believed his former partner’s life was “complicated” and “messy”.

His belief that he offered the beautician financial “support” was down to his assertion that Miss Wellgreen was “in a lot of debt”.

Lacomba tells the operator that the CCTV on his house “doesn’t record” but it was “turned off at the plug”.

He describes her as white British, 5 foot 7, brown straight hair at shoulder length, green eyes, of medium build, with a Chinese tattoo on her belly

Mr Lacomba was in Dartford at the time of the call with mum Marilyn Lacomba back at the house. A patrol was instantly sent to 22 Bazes Shaw during the call so Lacomba heads home.

The call was made at about 10.30am.

( so this call is on Thursday October 11 )
