I think it is overly odd that the frames were empty. Who does that? If empty, put them away in a drawer or something? BL seemed obsessed with which men and how many men S was communicating with.. my bet is that S had photos perhaps of herself and Neil, or perhaps her younger children with Neil's child, and he hated it, so removed when/since he knew she wasn't coming home.. possibly feelings shared by his mother, who was then going to stay in her bedroom. imo.

I like it

I wondered if BL had had the idea to make it look as though SW was planning to go away - taking the photos from the frames - which were possibly photos of her children.

The clothes in the suitcase - not sure about that. Was he trying to pretend that SW had some plan to run away with her children ? and that she was moving their clothes to another place in preparation for moving out altogether ?
Or was it genuine ? SW did move from place to place, perhaps she planned to take the children somewhere for a short stay ?
It seemed to me like he wasn't aware that S had that suitcase full of kids' clothes in her trunk? Then he was surprised when the cop opened the trunk to find it.. so had to exclaim that it was 'his'.. so therefore, whatever you find in there is mine, don't take it. ?
I wonder if S was planning on leaving with the kids until she got the house ownership settled?

So what's gone missing from the house since the police first called?

I make it 2 phones (at least), a wet jumper and 3 empty photo frames. Anything else?
Cant think of anything else. Good idea to list them.though LB

Maybe it happens all the time, but personally I was shocked when I read that BL had disposed of her phone, and then also his own phone, even after police had said they wanted it, and he had said he'd give it to them. I wonder if he had any kind of person advising him to do that? Would it be better to be seen as suspicious for having disposed of them, or to let police see what was actually ON them? Seems he had SOMETHING to hide. I wonder if we might hear anything further on these texts, ie, aren't at least *some* texts accessible by the provider?

:D

Im doubting my own thoughts now. He seems to have gone for the ' someone else has harmed her' rather than ' she had upped and left us all'?

He said to police she'd not leave kids....he tries to push the other Mens messages and his concerns about their characters....doesnt hide phone..
Cards etc.. as if SW had taken them, so why photos?

Mrs SvS wonders if he had somehow been using the frames to bug the room. (The Crack Cocaine mustve kicked in)

Its not overly odd that the frames were empty? Just that they then disappear

I was thinking that perhaps his Plan A was the ...she’s upped and left us all....but he then found it too difficult to set up, because of time.

He had to move her body first of all and for that he needed to use his own car.
Then by the time he got back it was 4.30am and I guess he just didn’t have enough time left to start packing her clothes and then drive her car away and dispose of it and get back home before the children woke up.

So he went for plan B ... SODDI..... less stuff to deal with

( some other dude did it )

Makes sure he gets his excuse in...only looked at the phone because no lock.... as if that matters when someone is missing

I also noticed that BL said Neil had texted him to ask for info on Sarah's whereabouts and that he, Neil, was on the verge of calling police to report her missing.

Interesting, too, for BL to take the time to explain to the operator that "we're not together" (he and Sarah). I'd say the operator did well to keep BL talking for so long.

It's Ian Stewart ( Helen Bailey ) all over again. Doesn't call the police until pushed to do so by family/friends.

I kinda see it as a prompt that now's an appropriate time after she's gone missing to make the call -- not too soon -- and a chance to get his story to the police first, and to be seen as "well of course I was worried, otherwise why would I have called her in as missing?"

Just popping by...
All IMO...its odd he never mentions her name in the calls , so much info but no name.(as i recall)

its almost like he thought up all these diff avenues to go down and blame etc and then ended up just spewing them all(instead of one option) when he realised he was terrible at murder.
I mean, when it comes to murder u can't be sloppy and he seems like he dont have a clue

At best, he did a rekkie IMO with cctv turning it on and off and even then messed that up

A few more details re SWs text messages.

Message to NJ

Referring to Lacomba, she told Mr James: 'The fat t**t [Lacomba] said ''Oh that means you won't get benefits for the kids' so he asked to claim them. WTF.'
Asked by Mr James why she went to bed so early she replied: 'I don't like to sit downstairs with Ben so I go to bed.'
In the same conversation she added: 'I told him that I know he claims working tax credits and they have given him a lump sum. He's been very quiet since I got back...the truth hurts.'

In a further message to Mr Eleini they arranged to meet the following Tuesday for a 'play date'.

Was this Mr Eleini a friend or lover? He sounds like a lover by the language used.

Police searched three properties

The court has heard police were instructed to search three properties in relation to Sarah being reported missing.

Police Constable Gemma Pauline instructed officers to attend 22 Bazes Shaw, Flat 11 in Bear Lane, Farnham (Neil James flat) and 190 Queens Road in Portsmouth.

“Ben Lacomba was not happy about our attendance due to the time of night.” - PC Pauline

When asked if Sarah is ever out of the home, Lacomba said: “She always goes out. She’s normally there (in the morning).”

PC Maycock seized the CCTV system but Lacomba said it would be “pointless” as it wasn’t working.

As officers leave, Lacomba told them: “If you’re going to come round again, make sure you call. I don’t like it that you turn up unexpected.”

When they attempt to search the property again, Lacomba he said: “I told you to phone before just turning up again.” before giving permission for forensic dogs to search the property.

The dogs found nothing

Joe Eleini was a 'Male Friend', Chimp. I think a relatively new one.

Others will correct me if wrong.

'He appeared dazed'

A statement from Police Officer Ryan Duffy was read out to the court. He attended Sarah’s home on October 12 to search the house with four other officers.

“There was no response to our knocking on the door. There was no answer to Lacomba’s phone.

“We waited for roughly 10 to 15 minutes when unexpectedly the front door suddenly opened and Lacomba identified himself.

“He invited us into the house. Lacomba explained that he had been asleep. He appeared to be dazed and confused by our attendance.”

The officers searched Sarah Wellgreen’s bedroom and Lacomba’s bedroom.

Lacomba appeared in the bedroom and begaan to watch the searching officers.

Duffy spoke with Lacomba for around 20 minutes.

Lacomba explained that the children had “gone through many difficult situations over the last few years”.

He described his break up with Wellgreen as “a messy one” with many court hearings.

Lacomba believed Wellgreen’s relationship with Neil James had come to an end in the past few months.

Lacomba said Wellgreen was in an “intimate relationship with three separate men at the same time and would take the children on day trips with them”.

Officer Duffy said Lacomba “implied there was the possibility that there were further men she was in a relationship with that he was not aware of”.

He then claimed a child asked him: “Daddy, is mummy a slag?”

Lacomba’s eyes water and he said: “What am I supposed to say to that, eh?”.

He described himself as the “bread-winner” and the “only thing she (Sarah) did was complain that the house was a tip.”
