Found Deceased UK - Scott Diver, 16, Clydebank, 17 September 2016

  • #21
Just had a look on the Missing Help Find Scott Diver Facebook page. Someone has posted asking if they can organise a search where he was last seen, another poster has commented saying they'd asked the family this before and they said no. Which again harks back to their comments in the media and on Facebook asking people not to look in large groups. I find this very odd and hard to get my head around as generally a young person goes missing and searches are organised. Do they think Scott is hiding somewhere? Maybe someone harboring him? It just seems off, why wouldn't they want people to search for him.

It was said Scott has learning difficulties and maybe autistic and they are worried that a lot of attention would spook him. Not sure though, it is odd.

That was my first thought but on the Facebook page someone asked if he was autistic or had a learning difficulty but a family member stated he didn't. Agreed thou it is very odd.

From the Missing Help Find Scott Diver facebook page. Strange as there is a post from yesterday about searching at the weekend.

"Although ourselves and the police will be continuing to search for Scott the police have asked that we postpone the large scale search with the help of the public for the moment. We know that a lot of people would love to do something to help but the police know best and we don't want to do anything to jeopardise their work. Thank you all for your offers of help and please continue to share Scott's picture"

Oh dear, the post from his family today on facebook makes me think it's him, unlike every other post they've not asked people to keep sharing Whilst there isn't a formal identification police would know if his clothes matched what he was wearing when he was last seen.

Concerned families of two missing people from the area have continued to appeal for information on their whereabouts since the grisly find. Relatives of Scott Diver, 16, and William McKenna, 39, both from Clydebank, have been kept informed of developments by police.

The body was discovered in woods in nearby Old Kilpatrick on Thursday. Last night Police Scotland said: “We are working to identify the body. There will be no more information available until Monday at the earliest.”

How dreadfully sad. Death "not suspicious" - I think we all know what that means.

Thinking back to some of the comments around searching for him from the police and family, it certainly sounds like this was suspected from early on. Terrible news.
