UK UK - Serial Killer in Ipswich UK - Stephen Wright

I'd hold off on believing that Fox report, there are some glaring inaccuracies in it. (Example: It's the Suffolk police investigating the crimes, not Scotland Yard.) Let's wait for any U.K. residents to confirm it, shall we?

'Ipswich Ripper' Prostitute Murder Investigators Eye Atlantic City Cases for Possible Link

NEW YORK — Police investigating the brutal "Ipswich Ripper" murders of five prostitutes in England will examine possible links between those killings and the murders of four prostitutes in Atlantic City, N.J., last month, FOXNews.com has learned.

Ipswich Police spokeswoman Shelly Spratt said contact with authorities in Atlantic City "is an avenue we will go down." She said investigators already have discussed making that contact, but because more bodies turned up on Tuesday they had not opened discussion yet.

"We can use all the help we can get," Spratt said

I'm taking those reports to mean they may be in collaboration and comparing ideas, looking for insight maybe even into the killers next move but not that they think it's the same person that did both. Although I suppose you rule nothing out with this kind of case. The Atlantic City casinos do attract businessmen and types from all over. Here you have professionals coming together with expertise that can learn something from each other even to solve these crimes.

Was this his first victim? Teenage prostitute killed 14 years ago is linked to Suffolk Strangler

Natalie's body hair had been shaved off by her killer, and the Daily Mail has learned that body hair had also been shaved from the Suffolk victims.

"chubby-faced man with spectacles"

Officers are trying to find out what happened between the last sightings of the five young women and the discovery of their bodies by analysing CCTV footage, speaking to other prostitutes and drug workers who knew them. Detectives are known to be interested in talking to a "chubby-faced man with spectacles" driving a blue BMW, who was seen by a group of prostitutes talking to Ms Alderton in the red light area three days before her body was found. The sighting is a new one. Until yesterday police believed Ms Alderton was last seen on Sunday December 3 after visiting her mother in Harwich and travelling to her home in Colchester.

Part 6 -- In their own words: The twisted art of murder

Joe Kondro: says If he could change just one thing, Kondro says, he would've been more careful in hiding his final victim's body.

Time and distance, Keith Hunter Jesperson says, is all it takes. Separate yourself from the body and don't be seen. Meet a victim one place, dump her someplace else -- in another town, another county, another state -- somewhere no one is looking for the missing.

One lesson each learned early on is that police rarely can track down a killer if they can't find a body. Without a body, a murder can be forgotten as a routine missing-person case.

"When you're throwing away bodies, the real adversary out there is not the police, it's the public," Jesperson says. "You're trying to avoid being seen by them. You can't be placed at a dumpsite."

But Kraske and other veteran investigators and criminologists don't believe the Pacific Northwest's reputation as a breeding ground for sociopaths. They caution that serial killers are at work everywhere -- police in the Northwest are just better than most at detecting them.

One thing which may catch the killer out is the overwhelming use of CCTV in the UK.

someone on Huff's blog has suggested somethiung of interest (lots of poster have suggested things of interest) which i hadn' known. whether it is pertinent or not?

* Body hair removal is considered an an act of “fitrah” In the Islamic culture.

Fitrah is humanity’s innate disposition towards virtue and the ability to differentiate between right and wrong.

Perhaps the shaving is an act of religious symbolism?

(Which again possibly ties this in ideals to the A.C. murders.)

The body of a woman found near Ipswich has been identified as missing prostitute Paula Clennell.

The 24-year-old was found strangled in woodland in Levington, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

Ms Clennell's body was one of two found at the site on Tuesday by police investigating three other murders. Police believe the body of the second woman - lying about 150 yards away - is that of missing prostitute Annette Nicholls, 29, and also from Ipswich.

Police said the body of the second woman found in woodland was removed late in the afternoon to allow Home Office pathologist Dr Nat Cary to carry out a post-mortem examination at a hospital in Ipswich

Hey there Dingo,

This article states;

Experts said the Ipswich murderer had managed in just four weeks to equal the grisly record of Jack the Ripper, infamous for the gruesome evisceration of his victims, all of whom were prostitutes working in east London.

The Ripper killed the same number of women as the Ipswich murderer over a six-week period. While the Ripper started his gruesome round of killing in the summer of 1888 and continued into the autumn, the Ipswich murderer has managed to strike fear over just one month.

Hi ds........lets hope they catch this creep soon.

What a worry, hope the working girls are looking out for themselves over there.

Thanks for the links everyone, cabinfever yours was disturbing.
Kondro and Jesperson freaked me out.

How awful for that mother whose daughter died in 1992 to have it all brought up again even though I guess she would like closure and to see someone pay.
A possibility that the killer may have recently come out of prison maybe serving time for another crime.

British Police Identify 5th Victim of Serial Prostitute Killer

IPSWICH, England — British police said Friday they have identified the fifth woman believed to be the victim of a serial killer targeting prostitutes, but were uncertain of the cause of her death.

The last of the five victims to be formally identified was Annette Nichols, 29, said Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull of Suffolk Police.

"A post mortem last night failed to reveal a clear cause of death," Gull said.

They haven't been able the astablish the cause of death for three of the five girls, do you guys think that is strange? What methods of killing could make it hard for forensic specialists to detect? I was thinking of suffocation. The detectives are looking into whether the girls were drugged first.

Full video ,wonder what she was looking at and then put in her purse. If you look at the mirror behind her the door opens and she turns around and smiles quickly then gets off. She looks like she by herself. Shes antsy. Chewing gum . I wonder why the door swung? Is that a bathroom ? Maybe it swung open by itself and spooked her?

Poor girl.

A policeman is under investigation now, apparently:

COP WANTED IN MURDER PROBE

MURDERED Paula Clennell is pointing the finger at a senior policeman punter from beyond the grave, the News of the World can reveal.
The officer — who works for a neighbouring constabulary — was a regular client to her AND one of the Suffolk Strangler’s other victims.

…….

An insider told us: “The detectives asked Paula to list her clients. She told them that one of her regulars was a senior police officer with another force who she shared with one of the other girls.
“She revealed that she visited him at a house in Suffolk.
“Irrespective of what this man does for a living, this is now an active line of inquiry.
“He won’t be treated any differently because of who he is. This is a murder investigation.”

More: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/story_pages/news/news1.shtml

And Det Chief Supt Stewart Gull, who is heading the investigation into the murder of the five Ipswich prostutes, told us: "Regardless of whether he's a police officer, I am not going to be drawn on a particular individual.

"We are looking at a number of interesting individuals and that's my line."

Poor girl.

It's an interconnecting door between carridges - this is throughout a train. i don't think it would spook her. swinging open would mean someone didn't quite pull it fast after they went through. the motion of the train would have tripped it eventually. fairly common occurrance.

i believe she was checking her make-up and making adjustments with some cosmetics which is what she put in her purse. she was looking at herself in the darkened windows getting herself ready for a night out.

seems like 95% of humanity chews gum these days (i can't stand the stuff and hate to see people looking as though they are chewing their cud). i don't think anything suggests she was antsy.
