UK- SF drag pioneer Steven Grygelko AKA Heklina, 55, possible murder in Soho, April 2023

This one has hit close to home in the nightclub and drag communities in San Francisco, New York City and elsewhere. Heklina was a fixture and beloved doyenne of the San Francisco drag scene for decades. This week CCTV footage of three men seen leaving the flat where she was found dead this was released to the public. The timing almost two years after her death raises the specter of murder, begging the question, why did it take so long?

"Heklina, whose real name was Steven Grygelko, 55, was found on April 3 2023 by her friend and tour partner. Investigators are still looking to find out what happened to Steven, who was in London touring with their stage production.."
