GUILTY UK - Sian Blake, 43, Zachary, 8, & Amon, 4, London, 13 Dec 2015

Just heard the awful developments on the radio and can only think WHY!?!?!?

I had wondered if it was a planned disappearance with maybe murder/suicide which in the madness of the situation I could find some understanding but this ... :(

I wonder what their relationship was like. they had been in some sort of relationship for at least 8 years.

Neighbour is speculatiing

A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said the discovery of three bodies had left her afraid. “I used to see her walking up and down and we would greet each other,” she said. “She was a happy woman. I used to see her and her kids playing in the garden. I never saw the man.

“But in November she started wearing dark glasses and didn’t say ‘hello’ and we wondered if she had been beaten up.”

He is 6'2 she was 5'2

Miss Blake is described as black, 5ft 2in and slim with short black hair. She wears glasses, but can also wear contact lenses.
Police said Mr Simpson-Kent is a light-skinned black man who is 6ft 2in.

How terrible, 3 lives taken to soon , I'm saddened this stuff happens.

Hang on - they didn't check the back garden until now? Surely it would have been fairly obvious if a chunk of garden had been dug up, or a new patio laid or something...

Anyone who's read English crime, fact or fiction, knows a dig in the back garden's soon in the offing when folks go missing. Basement, bins, back garden, hello.

How awful! So terribly sad. :(

"On 16 December officers spoke to Simpson-Kent at the family home in Erith, and he has not been seen or been in contact since then. He is now deemed a high-risk missing person."

I'm not quite sure what this means. Does this mean he is a suspect? Or is he considered innocent and missing, assumed deceased too?

How terribly sad. :( It stated that police have been at the property for days, does it really take days to discover bodies in the garden? Doesn't look like we're talking acres of land here.

On my drive home from work, they mentioned this on the radio, they also made a point of stating that they had links to Cambridge, Cambridgeshire but aren't saying as it's part of the ongoing investigation. I wonder if it's her that has the links, or him.

I believe they think he is a high flight risk, or a high risk of suicide.

I think they'll find his body next. Just moo.

Not necessarily. If they were buried in a soil bed. All the person needed to do was dig the whole bed and it would all look the same.

It looks like a fairly straightforward garden, mainly grassed with a couple of poly-tunnel things and a few trees / bushes at the back.

Is it likely the forensic tents are placed over where they're digging (ie slap bang in the middle of the lawn)?

BBC coverage with aerial footage of the garden.

I have to say, I find it a little odd that someone has been busy digging in the garden at this time of year and the neighbours didn't notice anything, especially with the houses so close. Maybe it's just me and being nosey but I'm sure I would have noticed. MOO of course.

The blue / blue & white tents are Police tents, the green poly tunnels are just that (for growing veg etc) - the only thing I am not sure of is the blue sheets, unless they are being used by Police to shade/protect other evidence.

Bit of a timeline in this article:

December 13: Sian Blake was last seen loading bags into the boot of her car near her mother's home in Leyton with her sons Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, according to neighbours.

December 14: Neighbours claimed her partner Arthur Simpson-Kent returned to her family home in Erith, Kent.

December 16: Ms Blake and her family were reported missing to police. Officers spoke to Mr Simpson-Kent, who has not been seen since. Police earlier said that he was not a suspect in the case but launched an appeal to find him.

December 18: Neighbours claimed police broke into the family home in Erith after vsiting it every day

December 19: He was described as a 'high-risk missing person' to the public by police.

December 31: Officers launch missing people's appeal through media.

January 3: Ms Blake's car is found silver Renault Scenic - registration number SM54 FUO - was found abandoned in Calvert Avenue, Bethnal Green, east London.

January 4: Police announce that homicide detectives have taken over the investigation

January 5: Forensics arrive at the family home in Erith, Kent. They dig up the back garden and discover three bodies.

I really don't understand what seems to be a lack of urgency when two kids were missing. Especially if it's true the police forced entry on Dec 18th.

Yes I think the blue tarps are just strung up in the trees to stop people taking photos (bit out of order that someone did take a snap in this DM article, and also a bit much showing pics of the body bags being removed, but then the DM usually has photos of everything)

I wonder what the tall thin box is the police are removing from the house?

A source told The Sun that Mr Simpson-Kent travelled to Ghana via Glasgow and Amsterdam 'just days before Christmas'.
The source added that 'Interpol have been informed and there is an alert out to find him.'
Police have spoken to neighbours and carried out ‘cell-site’ analysis on his mobile phone to piece together his movements.
They are also examining claims that he was spotted clearing out the house in Erith with bin-liners before he disappeared.
Detectives are trying to establish whether there had been any sudden change to the family’s circumstances in the weeks before they disappeared.
Eldest son Zachary, eight, was no longer taken to school by his parents, a neighbour claimed. The neighbour said the younger son should have started school but did not seem to go to classes.

Mr Simpson-Kent's ex-wife Dominique Deblieux last night accused him of 'dealing in cocaine' as a source said he fled to Ghana just days before Christmas.
Ms Deblieux told The Sun: 'He smoked cocaine on many occasions and dealt a little in it too. I'm wondering now whether drugs lie behind what he is supposed to have done in England.'
She claimed that Mr Simpson-Kent has eight children by various different partners, adding: 'Our marriage was a waste of time. We didn't get on and he was violent man towards me.
'He also beat his own daughter Isis. He really didn't care for his daughter at all.'

OMG what a nightmare. WTH?? The poor kids. Poor Sian!

I have a good friend living in Ghana, he owns a small hotel/restaurant on the coast. I will message him and tell him to be on the lookout.

Edit: sent, with photo, etc.
