Philpott Trial Day 6

3.40pm: PC Atwal tells the jury she went to 18 Victory Road on May 2 after a call from Philpott about a threat Ms Willis made to him the previous day.

They hear that, when PC Atwal told him they were not going to caution or arrest her, he flew into a rage.

She said: "He started punching out into thin air. He went next door and I heard a thumping noise. It could have been a door or a wall."

4.15pm: The next witness is PC Lucy Moorcroft, who tells the jury Philpott was "angry" when told Ms Willis was not to be arrested for making threats.

She said he told police he would "take matters into his own hands" and said he would go to the papers.

This whole sordid affair and general depravity sickens me to the core. Those poor children, they must have loved their parents for them to betray them like this

So, we might have a verdict on Tuesday. Any thoughts on how it will go anyone?

^ I don't see anything but the guilty verdict being given, personally. You?

Fairly sure for Mick, less so for Mairead.

There was documentary on this case on Sky News earlier... they played some of the secret recordings made of the Philpotts by police. If possible its even more shocking to hear it from their own mouths. They've interviewed brothers who tried to help rescue the children - they're clearly still devastated and you wonder how their lives can ever be normal again.
Hope the Philpotts and Mosely never see outside a prison again.

If you can find video of the press conference they did after the fire.. so much fakery.

Says alot - when their own blood - agree's with guilty. But JMO Mick Philpott - destroyed more lives than went up with fire.

Philpott's lawyer has just asked the judge to give the minimum possible sentence. I hope the judge ignores him - this guy has previous convictions for attempted murder and GBH, not to mention a lengthy history of domestic violence that he was getting away with.

He should get life.
