Officers searching for the body of murdered Suzanne Pilley have identified a key new search area, it has been revealed.

A remote spot near Minard, Argyll, is subject to a fresh, intensive police search in connection with the 38-year old from Stenhouse...

Officers have begun searching the Minard area in response to claims from a witness who saw Gilroy’s silver car on the main road between Loch-gilphead and Inverary the day after she vanished. The same witness also claims to have spotted Gilroy’s Vauxhall Vectra at a quiet spot off the main A83 arterial route that runs through the area.

There is a 10 part, free podcast on audible, called Body of Proof, discussing whether Gilroy's conviction is unsafe.

I think it's biased and misses out or glosses over some compelling evidence, but it's worth a listen. Screenshot_20191014-210630.jpg Screenshot_20191014-210630.jpg Screenshot_20191014-210659.jpg

Just seen an alert for this post and thought it was weird since tomorrow I'm heading off to the area that Suzanne is believed to be buried in the Argyll Forest.

Suzanne's body has never been found. I often travel to Argyll and spend time searching for her. Feel a strong link to Suzanne as I was driving around that area of Argyll on the same day in 2010, at the same time as David Gilroy was there with Suzanne's body in his car, driving her to that unknown location where her body still is. The area is vast, but I hope she will be found. I'll soon be there again, searching another location where I hope she might be.

What area are you currently searching?

I'm thinking of covering part of the Leacainn Forest Drive/Brencollie Road. The area is absolutely vast and impossible to fully cover. I'm unsure if that road has ever really been searched, but I drove it years ago and felt like I wanted to return and search there. Alternatively I'm thinking of searching along some of the forest roads on the west shore of Loch Awe, leading up from Ardbrecknish. Again, unsure if these areas were ever searched at all. I won't have much time, but always give a few hours for Suzanne whenever I am in Argyll.

Many areas have been searched, in line with the search area of the cameras that caught DG's vehicle that day. I don't want to go over already-searched areas but am interested in looking at places within the overall search area that may not have been prioritised for one reason or another.

Any updates on your search? I have gone down a few forest roads in the past few years looking for possible sites.

I did search but was not able to cover much ground. I drove the former Leacainn Forest Drive route from Auchindrain to Loch Awe - the road is just about driveable now with a small car, rough gravel and feels very remote. (I'd hate to have a breakdown there!) Even when this was a recognised route for tourists and others as a "forest drive" (and was paved), it still had a feeling of incredible desolation, with many spots where small side roads branch briefly into the forests along it, and maybe that's why I think it is a location that needs a thorough search for Suzanne.

When I drove over it most recently I stopped several times and looked around but what is really needed is a larger scale (i.e. large group of people), more methodical and planned search, as that area is so vast. Sadly I couldn't do it justice on my own, on one day. I still have the feeling that it's a very likely location as would have been driveable, private, and leads from the route that was taken on that horrible day.

Police activity spotted on forestry roads on the Cowal peninsula. Probably not related but something to keep an eye on perhaps. Think they were digging up areas.

Scratch that, it's unrelated to Suzanne.

Police are looking for the body of Lynda Spence, a businesswoman who was abducted, tortured for 13 days and killed in West Kilbride in 2011.
