Police have appealed for help to find a woman last seen in Bexley almost a week ago.

Taiwo Balogun, 53, from Crayford, was last seen at about 12:midday on Thursday, December 1.

Police have since established that she was in the vicinity of Tower Retail Park in Crayford at 2.18pm that day.

Taiwo is described as 5ft 9ins tall, with braided hair.

When last seen, she was wearing a black jacket and black trainers. She was also carrying a Sainsbury's bag.

The latest update is very short on detail. You would think that the police would at least have repeated the details about Taiwo's description, clothing and last known sighting. I wonder if it was written by someone who doesn't normally write these appeals. Hopefully it will be amended in due course.

A desperate search has been launched to find a mother who has been missing for almost a month.

Taiwo Balogun, 53, was last seen in CCTV footage from a shop in Dartford, Kent, on December 1.

Officers said she is considered vulnerable and may be a risk to herself.

Mrs Balogun’s family are ‘very worried’ about her disappearance, saying she is ‘greatly loved and a massive part of our lives’.

I wonder what gives detectives reason to believe that Taiwo hasn't been harmed by anyone.

The case reminds me of that of Owami Davies, particularly the length of time Taiwo has been missing, and how long it has taken for CCTV footage to be released. I hope there is a similarly positive outcome in this case.

Police searching for a mum who vanished from her home a month ago say they have found a body in a lake.

Metropolitan Police confirmed a woman's body was found in a lake near Bluewater Shopping Centre and that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

The force said in a tweet: "A woman's body was recovered from a lake near Bluewater Shopping Centre on Fri 30 Dec.

"While formal identification awaits, Taiwo Balogun's family has been informed.
