Police are currently searching for a missing woman on the Trans Pennine Trail and the surrounding areas in Warrington.

Thea Newton (29) was last seen at around 1.30am this morning (Friday 16 June) at her home address in Warrington but has not been seen since.

Her car was found parked near Sunflower Drive and officers, along with search and rescue teams and the drone, are currently making search of the area.

Thea is described as being 5ft 10ins tall, with long blonde hair and of slim build. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a multi-coloured pattern on it.

Inspector Daniel Richardson said:

“We’re increasingly concerned for her welfare and are currently searching for her. If you are out on the Trans Pennine Way and see a woman fitting this description, please contact us. Her family and friends are extremely worried about her and just want her home safely.

“I’d also appeal directly to Thea, please let us know you are okay, we’re all very worried about you and want to get you back to your family.”

Police have launched a major search operation to find a missing woman whose car has been found abaondoned near a Cheshire walking route.

Thea Newton, 29, was last seen at around 1.30am this morning, June 16, at her home address in Warrington, but has not been seen since.

Her car was found parked near Sunflower Drive, near the Warrington stretch of the Trans Pennine Trail. And officers, along with search and rescue teams and the drone, are currently making search of the area.

Friends appeal for help in finding Thea

As Thea continues to be missing, her friends are now appealing to anyone who may have seen her.

On Facebook, Claudia Stephanie has shared an image of Thea and said: "If anyone has seen or heard from Thea Olivia Newston please get in touch.

"She has been missing since the early hours of this morning near her home in Warrington"

She is asking people to share her post.

Body found in search for missing woman

Police searching for a missing woman from Warrington have found a body.

Thea Newton was last seen at around 1.30am today (Friday, June 16) at her home address in Warrington. Her car was found parked near Sunflower Drive and officers, along with search and rescue teams and the drone, started searching for her.

Cheshire Police has now confirmed they have found a body in their search, which is believed to be Thea. Her next of kin have been informed.

 
Cops discovered the body while searching the Trans Pennine Trail and surrounding areas of the Cheshire town.

They were being assisted by search and rescue teams as well as a drone.

The death is not believed to be suspicious, they confirmed.

Thea was seemingly a pal to celebs as she was followed on Instagram by reality TV stars like former Love Islanders Davide Sanclimenti and Natalia Zoppa

 
A former student at Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe, Thea worked at Absolute Fitness gym in Clitheroe for several years from the age of 18 where she was well known and popular.

She was also on the cheerleading team at the former Candy Club in Burnley which was led by Kirsti Raynor Tattersall whose daughter Leoni was best friends with Thea.

Paying tribute to Thea, Kirsti said: “Thea was a fun and bubbly person who was always laughing. She was just so stunning...tall, blonde and like a model.

“She was just a lovely person and will be sorely missed.”

 
Devastated friends have paid tribute to a 'wonderful' gym worker who was found dead by police yesterday after her car was discovered abandoned.

Thea Newton, 29, was last seen at around 1.30am yesterday at her home address in Warrington and Cheshire Police confirmed they found a body in their search, which is believed to be Ms Newton. Her next of kin have been informed.

Since the news of her death broke last night, hundreds of people have paid tribute to Ms Newton on Facebook, saying she was died 'too soon'.

Her friend Alex Standring posted on social media with the caption 'absolutely devastated'.

One person said: 'So many young lives being lost how can you ever start to make sense of all this. Heartbreaking news my thoughts are with her family and friends.'

Another person commented: 'So sad she was my good friend and I can't believe it I'm still shocked. Thank you for being my friend and I'll miss you.'
