Just reading the BBC article on this case: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-19159340

This sticks out for me.

What does he know? Not sure about what? Does he know that someone else was in the house?

I took it to mean not sure about the grandma's partner being last to see her but with all the varying reports in this case not sure.
and if hes saying the grandmas partner was not last to see her is he saying he's lying about that morning.

According to 192.com there are a number of people registered as living with Stuart Hazell on the electoral roll - Tia, her mother, Grandmother and uncle. Don't know who the other two are though

Stuart Hazell
Age Guide: 35-39
New Addington, Surrey

Denis Alden, Tia Sharp, David Sharp, Christine Bicknell, Natalie Sharp, Christine Sharp
2008-12

I'm not au fait with the website, but in the basic search, two addresses are pinpointed on the map, neither of which are the grandmother's home in The Lindens. Does anyone have credit to search further?

Are any of these people actually married to each other? Is stepdad married to mom? How old is grandma? Her "partner" is 37? Why is it considered awful that dad tried to reach his daughter through facebook?

Gran is 46 years old .....name is Christine Sharp or ... 2 different names from different media articles

Gran's partner is Stuert Hazell... 37 years old

I am not sure if mom, Natalie is actually married to who is referred to as "step-dad" David Niles

Natalie is 30 or 31 ( differing ages in media)
David Niles is 29 years old

this info. Is from my notes... And I may have some of this wrong.. But I am doing the best I can!

so many contradictions in stories of family and info. In media articles!:banghead:

David Sharp is Tia's uncle.

Tia shouldn't even be on the elctoral roll!

Why would Tia show up on an electoral roll when she's not 18?

I'm sure they are, but I hope the police have checked the east Croydon tram stop where SH claimed he met Tia on Thursday afternoon.

According to his story this would be the first contact with Tia. And if he did meet up they would certainly be seen on CCTV. Just looking on Google street view I can see 4 cameras.

It is just worrying that the police have only found 1 image of Tia at the coop so far.

I think it would help not to refer to grandmas bf as "step grandpa". Or "step" anything. Also, has her father not seen Tia since she was a baby?

Now we do have names we can use them, but you have to remember that earlier they had not released names. I used step so as not to confuse with her birth grandparents.

Grandmother's partner = Stuart Hazell SH
Mother's
partner = David Niles DN

Afaik her father left when she was a baby (surname Carter).

Croydon News, nothing new really. It really bugs me that she isn't on CCTV anywhere, it makes no sense.
I said before but does anyone know whether police would have routinely searched the house where she was last seen?

I have seen this questioned asked a couple of times, probably from you...
and I keep hoping someone says Yes!

This is my personal thorn in the side... Why aren't the homes where missing children people the FIRST place that is searched with a fine tooth comb???

It seems like that should be the very first place to look, since that is where the missing person was last seen.

Burt I see in so many cases that the home is searched only after all other avenues have been exhausted!:banghead:

sorry for rant... But this seems like sleuthing 101 to me!!!

JMO and MOO and all that.

and sorry for messy iPad typing, too!

I don't know for sure if it's routine. It is common sense you'd think!

Many moons ago I once had policemen and dogs crawling all over my house when they were looking for someone - and they didn't know where the person was, but they had been reported as being at my house visiting. They weren't there and I was happy to let the police in. Afaik they can request to search but if you refuse they'd need to apply for a warrant. In this case you'd think the families would be happy to cooperate.

According to http://www.channel4.com/programmes/channel-4-news/4od "Police have been searching in a 250 metre radius of the home, searching gardens, bins and public places"

The piece on Tia starts at around 12:50

Thanks!

i live in the UK yet i have to come here to read about this? thats a bit worrying!

am i the only one that is a little creeped out by her calling a 37year old "grandad" ?

its so dodgy that even though she has been in town no cctv of her anywhere on that day?!

its hard to keep an open mind to what might have happened when you read so many horrible stories regarding family members, something imo is defo not right here with her grandmothers partner.

if im wrong i will eat my hat but i always go by my gut and my mothers instinct.

i really really hope im wrong and she has just run away but i fear that is not the case.

Some thoughts that have occurred to me today, as I have been driving round south London working and spotting posters of Tia here and there.....

One of the earliest reports stated her own phone was broken so she had borrowed her mum's. Now, I can understand her not taking mum's phone out with her - none of her pals contact numbers would be on it. This could explain leaving her phone at home.

I am not surprised she was allowed to go into Croydon alone. Her school is a 7 mile journey from her home and yet the Whitgift Centre is a mere 2.5 miles. This is a very built up area of South London (as all of south London is) with one district running into the next, and has quite a different feel to the small town her grandmother lives in. My family are from SE London and the kids there are waaaaay more street savvy than my own who have been brought up in small villages in rural Kent.

With regard to the British press and who to trust.....

I am fairly confident with the Telegraph, BBC and the Guardian (to some extent). eta Local papers, eg thisiscroydontoday.co.uk are generally fairly good too, but often a little behind on the latest events.
The Sun, Mirror and Daily Mail are sensationalist and court controversy with gay abandon. They will not let facts get in the way of a good story, although my general view is that journalists, lawyers and estate agents all crawled from very similar ponds. JMO

Thank you for helping us interpret the credibility of the UK media!:seeya:

We've seen lots of examples of the Daily Mail publishing bad info, in Sierra's case for one, as well as others. They are about as reliable as the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 articles by Chelsea Hoffman, IMO.

Electrol roll should only have those over 18 or who will turn 18 in the next year on it.

Because you fill in who is living in the house on the form. If you are doing a family tree it is very useful.

I think youre confusing a census with the electoral roll. Granted, census is very useful but in the UK you only fill in those over 18 on the electoral roll. Electoral roll = those eligible to vote.

Yes you are right I am. Sorry it was late.....The census is not the electoral roll. No idea why Tia would be on it as I cannot see any logical reason for her to be.

Why the heck would anyone decide for themselves that a town was too busy and let a twelve year old go off into a busy town?

More to the point IF what the DM says is right then Stuart Hazell is a convicted drug dealer not averse to using a machete. Crack users don't usually stop......Unusual to have just one crack user in the house as it were. This guy has done jail time during the five years he was with the grandmother. I would think they would be careful at the moment not to report something like that unless they were sure (because of all the other stuff about newspapers in the news.)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...t-home-mother-says-thinks-daughter-taken.html

I don't understand though how DN can know what SH was doing? If he was there would he also not know what Tia said she was going to do?

Why would detectives only now want to interview SH? Did they wait for inconsistencies in the story to appear? (but this is the DM reporting.)

To be honest, as far as I remember New Addington is pretty rough, but so is Croydon these days.
