Vivienne Lindley left her home in Newick, near Lewes, East Sussex at around 9.30am on Wednesday 22 December.
The alarm was raised by her husband, John, and her son, Matt, when she failed to return by 7pm.
Following 'a hunch', her car, a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec, was found left at the seafront in nearby Seaford. It is believed to have arrived there around 4.30pm, but there has been no sighting of Vivienne, a former schoolteacher.
Vivienne has never gone missing before. She is described by police as slim, 5’6”, with brown hair and a scar on her forehead. It is possible she was wearing a long dark puffer jacket or coat.
Anyone who sees her or knows her whereabouts is urged to call Sussex Police on 999 and quote serial 1131 of 22/12.
