Yes! So glad there is progress being made for Bill! Shocking that the arrestees are family but greed does strange things to people. I hope they find him and give him the send-off he deserves.

Police in Hertfordshire have rebailed four people arrested in connection with the disappearance of a wealthy farmer.

All were rebailed until 3 December.

Just been reading ( on the Sarah Wallgreen thread ) re the new bail conditions which have come into force today.

28 days to begin, followed by a further 3 month extension which has to be approved by a superintendent or senior police officer, followed by application to a magistrate for any additional periods of bail.

I assume the bail that these 4 have was set under the old rules, but any further bail from December 3 onwards should be in line with the new system.

I think they will be released at that time and, sadly, I do not believe that Bill will ever be found.

The estranged wife and two sons of a millionaire farmer who disappeared six months ago have been re-arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Angela Taylor, 52, her two sons Michael, 22, and William, 18, and a 53-year-old man are being quizzed in connection with William 'Bill' Taylor's disappearance and murder.

A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson said: 'Significant enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding William's murder and efforts are on-going to locate his body.

His neighbour told how his phone line had been cut off in the weeks before he went missing. Bill was not big on mobiles and relied on his landline so if he was in trouble he wouldn't have been able to alert anyone.'
He said that Angela had split with her husband two years ago and had a new lover.

Thanks Alyce.

How usual is it for police to call it murder and reference locating a body without some evidence of murder? I mean I think that is exactly what has happened but theoretically there are other possibilities, such as jumping off Beachy Head. I don't think police have called it murder yet in the case of missing Renata Antczak, even though her husband admitted to conspiring to drug her. It does seem though that Bill was being threatened, with the arson attack and the disconnected phone line. Perhaps they have a lot more circumstantial evidence linking these individuals to these events or to a motive, but not to the night/morning he went missing. Maybe there were divorce proceedings in the works.

Oh, I can't work out if this is current or related to the first time they were arrested -

'Three men, aged 18, 22 and 53 years old and a 52 year old woman, who are all from Hitchin, were arrested early this morning on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. They remain in police custody at this time.'

The date for their review of bail wasn't up until December 3rd.

I think this is the new arrest -

Interesting isn't it, that the police have acted before the due date on the bail.
Does sound ( hopefully ) as though they have more evidence, otherwise why use up valuable interview time with an arrest, when they could have just extended the bail again.

Hoping they can find Bill and find out what happened.

I was just looking into the definition of conspiracy to murder.

Obviously a conspiracy must involve at least two people, but I wondered what the equivalent charge would be if one person alone planned to murder another.

Oooh, the police definately have something then - and now we have a final name !

I've just realised they have different addresses. So it's not definite he is the new man in her life, or is it?

Two people have appeared at Hatfield Remand Court this morning (Saturday, December 1) in connection with the disappearance of William ‘Bill’ Taylor from Gosmore in North Herts.

Angela Taylor, aged 52, of Charlton Road, Hitchin and Paul Cannon, aged 53, of Pirton Road, Hitchin were both charged with conspiracy to murder, yesterday (Friday, November 30).

Today at court, they did not enter a plea but have been remanded in custody and will next appear for trial at St Albans Crown Court on Monday 7 January, 2019.

An 18 year old man and a 23 year old man, both from Hitchin, who were also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder were released on police bail while enquiries continue.

All four were arrested by officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit on Thursday, November 29.

Farmer William Taylor was last seen at his home in Gosmore on Sunday, June 3 at around 9pm –shortly before his 70th birthday. He was reported missing to police the following day (Monday, June 4).

Since then extensive enquiries and searches have been carried out in the effort to locate him before information led officers to launch a murder investigation.

William’s body has not yet been found and enquiries are on-going.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101. You can also submit information here: Public Portal

I suddenly had a thought that they may have been planning a getaway (or permanent move overseas) and police decided to act before they left. Sons would be unlikely to continue any travel plans without their mum.

This is really positive news. The case seemed to go cold for so long with nothing in the media so thithis update is rather encouraging.
