They would probably briefly adjourn whatever is happening in the courtroom to take the verdict.

Yess!

This is excellent news. Depsite the fact that we heard very little of the testimony, it looks as though there was plenty for the Jury to come to a quick verdict.
Hoping for a good long sentence now.

  • #332
I hope they get equal sentences - no reduction for her for hiding in bed the night of Bill's murder. Her lies about her relationship with Bill were vile, and she clearly has no remorse. I'm glad the jury saw through it.

His body was found eight months later in mud on the bank of the River Hiz near Hitchin on 10 February last year by fisherman Eric Jackson.
It was just over 2 miles north of Harkness Hall and close to Angela Taylor's home at Mill Farm.

By the body was a bottle of Baileys liqueur, a tea cup from Harkness Hall, the remnants of a corn on the cob and a plastic bag that related to Bill's tinnitus clinic.

A co-defendant, Gwyn Griffiths, 60, of Lucy Avenue, Folkestone who was a work colleague of Cannon was cleared of murder on the direction of the judge during the trial.

All three defendants denied an alternative, lesser charge of conspiracy to murder between 12th February and 5 June.

Gwyn Griffith was found not guilty and discharged.

So it does seem as if he was always there. No attempts to hide him then, and possibly an attempt to make it look like an accidental/natural death.

The CPS statement above also confirms he had died before he entered the water.

The verdict was reached by the jury made up of eight women and four men at St Albans Crown court today, who deliberated for two days following the eight-week trial.

Cannon's DNA was found on a towel and a shirt that had been used to start the fire that damaged Mr Taylor's Land Rover just days before he disappeared.

BBM. That makes things a lot clearer.

It ( Bill's body ) was just over 2 miles north of Harkness Hall and close to Angela Taylor's home at Mill Farm.

So just about where we pinpointed on the map last week.

2 miles north of Harkness Hall is about half mile north of ATs home - former home now :D

Mr Taylor was last seen alive at his home of Harkness Hall at around 9pm on June 3 by his grandson Ben, who had taken him for a Sunday roast.

In the following days Cannon sold a Suzuki 4x4 for cash before the vehicle ended up in Bulgaria, while Taylor got rid of her mobile phone, the trial heard.

Grey-haired and burly Cannon, wearing a dark suit, shook his head as the verdicts were returned, while Taylor did not react.

Judge Michael Kay QC told the killers they would be given life sentences when he return to court on Friday to hear their minimum prison terms.
