Two Texas sex offenders who received Viagra or other erectile-dysfunction drugs through Medicaid committed new sex crimes and five more are wanted on various parole violations, state Attorney General Greg Abbott said Friday.


Abbott's weeklong investigation has found 191 registered sex offenders from 60 counties obtained sex-enhancing drugs through Medicaid since 1999. Medicaid is the state and federally funded health care program for the poor.

Of the sex offenders who received prescriptions, at least 128 were convicted for sex crimes against children. Ages for seven of the victims were not known, Abbott said.
