If given the choice...wonder if they would have taken him alive.

Probably, but it was well known that he told his bodyguards to kill him rather than let him be captured, so I don't think he was ever going to be taken alive.

Now we need to kill or capture Al Zawahri, his #2.

I don't think they even wanted to open that can of worms. Where would he go, what would they do with him? Too controversial and awkward. A shot in the head works better in the long run.

They are interviewing a lot of the victims' family members on ABC. They seem happy for the closure of Bin Laden's death, but want us to remember the fight isn't over yet.

For 10 or so years in which he's been wanted by the FBI since 1998, Osama Bin Laden had eluded us. He was very arrogant & thought that he could get away with it forever.

But, no more! His time had finally come. To be brought to justice. And now, he will face God's wrath in Judgment Day, for taking the lives of 3000+ people on 9/11/01, & have left the children of those victims without their mothers &/or their fathers, in which those children will never see them again.

Those 3000+ lives that were caught in his charade from 9/11/01 can now finally rest their souls. Justice has finally been done. When someone dies, we would mourn over them. But this is one person in which the U.S. won't mourn over. :woohoo: :rocker:

I don't think so, they want to make it a point that if you attack America we will hunt you down and there isn't a rock you can hide under or a country you can hide in.

I understand how you feel Goz. If the families that lost loved ones in 9-11 can get any kind of closure whatsoever I hope that it comes to them. I feel closure myself. I am crying tears of joy and I usually never cry and when I do I certainly don't get online and announce it.

Even more selfishly and I hate to even share this but after I processed this info---I cried because this has been a long hard war. 10 yrs. I'm praying that this is the beginning of the end. That this will begin the long process of the end of this war. That we will not capitulate in any way and fulfill our promises and complete our mission and that is make all Americans safe. Sorry to share that at this time but that is why I'm crying right now. Relief. Even though it's small it is still a glimmer of hope in my heart the end may now begin---hopefully.

But my prayers will be with those who lost friends and loved ones and that this will give them some small measure of hope as well. Just my thoughts.

If he was in a mansion, then some pretty influential people knew he was there, you can be sure of that! :furious:

Now reported on ABC that a great deal of intelligence was recovered from the compound. GOOD!

The President said it was a 8 month investigation and he just gave the order a couple of days ago to take him. There was some kind of firefight and shot the SOB in the head. It just happened.

Lots of rumours - sorry for the spread. Not that I care, cuz the SOB is dead, so if it took em a bit to confirm the DNA it wouldn't bother me one darn bit :)
