Iran was just weeks away from having a nuclear weapon. We didn't have much choice. There may well be retaliation, but that can't stop the U.S. from doing what must be done.

Now the administration is focusing on protecting our assets in the Middle East and at home. As one would expect. And the only democracy in the Middle East and our important ally, Israel, is safe now from the existential threat of a nuclear attack from Iran.

I thought that a president couldn't just unilaterally attack a foreign country without approval from Congress. Trump didn't advise any members, including Democratic members what his plan was. Only a select group of Republicans knew. Why the secrecy? The US has been in numerous wars since WW2, over 80 years and the only one they ever won IS WW2. You know why? Because WW2 was a righteous war. Anything the US has been embroiled in since then, Vietnam, the Iraq war, Afghanistan, Korean war, Pakistan, Somalia...has been because the US tries to shape foreign policy to benefit the US. For the first time in over 50 years, the US will be on her own having incinerated any good will they had with prior allies.
