So only advising his administration of what can be perceived as an act of war? If he felt so righteous in his decision why not advise other members of his plan?
The U.S. Congress is not "his administration." It is a separate branch of government. The executive branch and the legislative branch of government are separate. Advising the leadership of the legislative branch of government would be appropriate.

DNI Gabbard Opening Statement for the SSCI As Prepared on the 2025 Annual Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Community

The IC continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003. The IC is closely monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program

I think the situation changed on June the 12th. The UN and IAEA issued statements (I posted above), Iran responded , they were going to build ANOTHER URANIUM ENRICHMENT NUCLEAR FACILITY. Moo... They laughed in the face of the world.

ETA ... URANIUM ENRICHMENT FACILITY for clarification.

AmId Iran Threats of Retribution.

"As our nation girds for possible Iranian terrorist attacks, this is the person Trump put in charge of terrorism prevention,” Murphy wrote — referring to Fugate. “22 years old. Recent work experience: landscaping/grocery clerk"

BBM
"A June 4 investigation from Pro Publica into Fugate’s background turned up a stunningly thin resume. Fugate got the job in May after

William Braniff — an Army veteran with over two decades of national security experience

— resigned in protest of cuts to CP3. Per his Linkedin page, Fugate said he spent several months performing “lawn care work around my neighborhood,” and also worked part time as a clerk at an H-E-B supermarket."

"Nuclear facility". There are many types.
The article I posted from the UN ALERT, stated uranium enrichment plant. I really take notice when the UN issues a statement backed up by the IAEA. Both oversee and monitor for the entire world. I don't believe either would haphazardly issues such an intense warning. Moo

Following Thursday’s resolution vote by the IAEA’s board of governors – which passed by a vote of 19 for, three against and 11 abstentions - Iran’s atomic energy body reportedly announced plans to open a new uranium enrichment plant and increase production of enriched fissile material.

Re the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz...

It is important to realize that
a potential blockade will not only affect oil,
but also LNG,
aviation fuel in Europe and fertilizers.

It will surely translate into higher food prices.

The effects of the blockade will affect the whole world.

So we bombed "plans for a new plant"? I thought our president disdains the UN. Now we believe them over our own whole intelligence community?

It had to be done not only for the safety of Israel and America but the world. I pray for the Iranian people that they may be liberated and set free from the terrorist regime they have been forced to live under for 47 years.
from what i understand this attack was not aimed at a regime change (though i imagine something like that might still follow)

from what i understand (take it as jmo as i’ve been reading about this but can’t find the source article now) it will be tricky to make things better for the iranian people. it seems that when the (definitely weakened) religious regime falls, the national guard will step in and the country would likely become a military dictatorship and it wouldn’t result in a lot more freedom. even though the current regime is awful, it doesn’t seem like there is another specific much better party with enough support.

i really do hope things will get better for the iranian people too but i fear that what’s currently happening is only making things worse.

Dear Websleuths members
We understand many of you are upset at the latest actions by the president. However, it is a political topic, and we do not discuss politics on Websleuths.
If discussing politics would in any way help the situation, then I would say let's discuss.
But let's face it, every time we try to discuss politics on Websleuths, the discussion turns ugly, feelings get hurt, friendships are lost, and nothing gets accomplished.
If you have some time and want to discuss something, I suggest visiting our
Missing But Not Forgotten forum, selecting a case that hasn't had an update in years, conducting a Google search, and posting any updated information you find. The families of the missing are desperate for anyone to discuss their loved one's case.
Thank you.

Tricia
