US threatens to annex Greenland - 2025/2026

It seems like we've had wave after wave of health scares (hopes and dreams) since his first term. He survived covid, an assassination attempt (allegedly), and scandal after scandal. I won't get too amped up until it's good and done. Then I'll party in the streets. Anywho, back to Greenland, as a casually interested American I just don't understand this sudden fixation. At first it seemed like he brought it up like some sort of placeholder for future distraction, and now he's using it. So that tells me there's something more significant in the works. Epstein?

A bad, bungled healthcare situation for 23 million Americans

When understanding the reasons that the US wants to annex Canada, the Kingdom of Denmark/ Greenland, Iceland (per Davos speech), and Venezuela, education matters. Also relevant regarding countries that are joining Trump's peace council.

this point may backfire with its intended audience. a certain subset of the US distrusts people who know what they're talking about. a lot of a certain politician's movement is based on the implicit beliefs that ignorance is just a different kind of knowledge, and stupidity is just a different kind of intelligence. a lot of people are conditioned to get insta-mad at the mention of expertise.

and reasoning based on evidence is often not even on their radar. it's an obscure technicality. not something that plays an important role in how they decide what's true.

What usual suspects?

I wouldn't know who the "usual suspects" are.
the usual people or things that are suspected or thought of in a particular situation

I think Elon has been against Trump in regards to Greenland.

Yes, Elon Musk is having a bit of an online fight with the boss of Ryanair at the moment. But he said this at the World Economic Forum.

At the start of Elon Musk's session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday, he joked about US-proposed "Board of Peace" for Gaza, according to AP. "Is that P-I-E-C-E? A little piece of Greenland, a little piece of Venezuela," Musk said, drawing laughter from attendees.

Until what is good and done? I hope it’s not what I think you’re implying.
Take it however you wish. I was not implying violence, if that's what you're asking.

It’s understandable why non-Americans would be against America first policies.
Those upset with ICE and Trump's policies are American citizens.

Of course you weren't and here in lies part of the problem, people without critical thinking skills--unable to understand what is happening right in front of their eyes.

As a UK citizen - one of my best friends is a injured service man from AFGHANISTAN I am horrified by his statement

How does he sleep at night?

My thoughts are with all those families from NATO countries who lost their lives / were injured in Afghanistan his statement yesterday was a disgrace.

Just like his Greenland sentiments does this man have any class?

According to the link you provided, the expression “usual suspects” is often used in a humorous way. So, are you making a joke? JMO

I'm sorry about what happened to your friend, who actually possesses bravery and commitment.

Trump has long been known as being a joke, bad businessman, predatory--every New Yorker knows. His moniker is "Don the Con" for a reason. He is reckless and careless. It's terrifying every day he holds this office.
