UT - 3 males charged with following 17-year old girl in vehicle for miles before shooting her to death - CEDAR CITY 1/17/25

A deputy communications officer with the Marines said Galloway’s forced removal was because the “character of his service was incongruent with the Marines’ expectations and standards” but did not provide further details. They added that Galloway's removal was not a dishonorable discharge because it did not involve a punitive process such as a court-martial.

Wow, getting forced out of the MARINES. The guy is obviously a hot mess. They can't give more details of course, but as long as he wasn't tried for a crime, they probably don't have to say anything.
Why are so many young people making such horrendous life decisions? Just wantonly killing someone who is no threat to them, killing their own kids, killing their friends, killing total strangers.

drugs

in a lot of cases, but aside from drugs. Like where are their freaking parents? And in case it's misunderstood, I don't mean THESE SPECIFIC parents. But something is clearly messed up. More teenagers than ever are committing violent crimes, and yeah probably drug use or abuse is part of it.
Also, being immersed in a gazillion trillion homicide-by-guns via gaming & television desensitizes a person and "rewires" the neurology of the brain. Combine that with paranoia and rage provoking stimulants and it's a sure recipe for disaster.

The drug epidemic in this country has generational impacts. Many children who parents are living in addiction are raising themselves due to parental absentia/neglect. Structured family environments where children thrive best, grow less the norm every passing year. Far more qualified WS'ers could state the stats on this more knowledgeably & eloquently, than me - JMO. Very sad.

And when the children grow up in that they don't know anything else, any other way to live, hence the cycle repeats until someone figures out there's another way, trauma happens in addict alcoholic homes and generational trauma occurs. I don't know the stats there as I am in Canada but they're definitely also high here with the drug epidemic. I don't know many people in my town not affected by addiction in some way. My son was hit with a machete. So much violence in North America. Is it everywhere else too? Jmo

do we know from stats that there's actually more teenagers committing crimes or is it just our perception because social media spreads the news faster ...

From the office of juvenile and delinquency prevention site

Sorry I don't know how to link it different other than copy paste. It's a .gov site (will link at bottom)

The number of young people ages 12 to 17 who were killed by homicide has fluctuated over the past decade but rose steadily between 2018 and 2022, nearly doubling in 5 years—from 717 in 2018 to 1,409 in 2022. The homicide rate among youth ages 12 to 17 in 2022 was 5.4 deaths per 100,000 youth.

Adults 18 and older accounted for the majority of homicide arrests. Youth younger than 18 represented approximately 8.9 percent of homicide arrests in 2021 and 11 percent in 2022.

After reading over everything, I don’t think this was a case of mistaken identity OR pure paranoia. I think it was misogyny.

I lived in a small town as a teen girl. I cannot tell you how many times I was yelled at by men from a car stopped at a light alongside me. Men stopped to take photos of me and harass me while I was pumping gas. I also was cut off and a man attempted to force me to stop my vehicle. And it always seemed they were bolder in groups.

I think that the following before the shooting, to me, indicates that the four men were likely harassing Kaylee and her passenger for quite a while. I believe they were likely incensed that these girls did not respond the way they wanted them to, and began to give chance. Then as the girls were frightened/angry, the men grew increasingly angry at the situation (that they had put themselves in).
IMO, the earlier town home sighting also does not discount my theory. They could have seen Kaylee from afar or even tried to talk to her at the townhome, which caused them to target her upon recognizing her and/or her vehicle.

I also don’t believe marijuana or mushrooms caused this behavior. I believe they likely had meth or crack in the car. Mushrooms can make you paranoid, yes, but they also completely handicap you from running, driving, attacking, etc. - besides, you forget what you were mad about in a matter of minutes as the ‘trip’ continues. I have heard of incidents with marijuana, but typically it will trigger psychosis in a person where their genes are already ‘loaded’ if you will. I find it unlikely all four men would suffer symptoms of extreme paranoia from marijuana.

So basically, my theory is that a mix of meth and misogyny is the motive behind Kaylees death. I hope they are all charged for the maximum possible time. MOO

The courtroom was filled to capacity, as approximately three dozen family members and friends of Kaylee Dutton were there to observe the proceedings. Several wore black T-shirts reading "Fly High KayLee" in Dutton's honor.
